I know @popbitch shared it, but I was SO proud to see the cleverest, most articulate man in Britain open my conference on 18 May. When #ChrisMorris speaks, you need to listen. & when he’s on your side, you know there’s a fight to save GP to be had. 💪 https://t.co/6ZTYoF8Ant

our practice used to have great access. Same day urgents, 1-2 weeks routine. Since digital access imposition in October a routine appt is 3 weeks as we’ve had to reduce F2F appts to triage all the online appts @wesstreeting @SKinnock @annalouisedixon @_RobbieMoore @doctor_katie

“….. if you’re a patient reading this, here’s the most honest thing I can say: your GP is not the sea. Your GP is another person standing on the same cliff edge, trying to hold the line with their bare hands. There is no more slack in the system. It’s gone. Oh Dave, this is

Well said Rob GPs across England deliver 1.7million appts every day - so not fewer - but you’re right to ask, who are they with? It needs to be *quality not quantity* GP is critically endangered across England - and will be extinct before we know it… @BMA_GP
When people accept the unacceptable, it quietly becomes acceptable. And that, to me, is the most unacceptable thing of all. Right now, in A&E departments across the country, patients who should be in proper hospital beds are being cared for in corridors. This isn’t a rare

How can we better free up GP time to make it easier for patients to get appointments & Hositals to deliver a more patient-centred service? We are crushed by the ‘Computer Says No’ culture in Trusts… @NationalVoices @HealthwatchE @PatientsAssoc @JustTreatment @silvervoicesuk
Summer 2025 "Our new improved diabetes service is ready to receive your referrals for uncontrolled patients" Today "We reject your referral for this patient on 4 oral agents because you haven't tried different versions or above-BNF maximums of those agents" Why bother eh?

GP registrars in England. The resident doctor reballot is underway, and your vote is vital. Vote YES and post your ballot by 26 January. A strong mandate for IA protects GP Flexible Pay Premia and strengthens our hand at the negotiating table.
📢 Resident doctors in England! ✅Vote YES in the ballot to keep the pressure on the Government in 2026. ✅ Vote YES for more jobs and better pay for resident doctors. Make sure you have your ballot in the post by 26 January.

Waiting lists a deep dive 🧵 Progress is being made on waiting lists which is good news given years of previous failure However there are some things that are being missed and is it as good news as being touted by @wesstreeting @DHSCgovuk @NHSEngland

@doctor_katie Yep
Waiting lists There is a reason they have fallen and it’s not what you think There is a task force removing patients from waiting lists and this appears to be the reason for a fall in waiting lists

Independent sector is now delivering 9-10% of all #NHS elective care. Higher still for admitted elective activity, with almost 1 in 5 admitted elective care Yet consistently takes the simple more straightforward cases, making profit & building more capacity eg. Spire 30% of work
