All NSW covid failures. Berejiklian avoids criticism.

IT'S ALL DAN'S FAULT!
The hypocrisy is appalling.
Dunno what the big deal is about the Suez Canal being blocked. Just send them on the detour around Cape of Good Hope. Sure it adds a bit to the trip, but that's what we do to pedestrians and cyclists in our cities 🤔
@Nerd4Cities
I get the same when I talk about how I do a lot of errands by bike instead of car. Apparently that makes me elitist and privileged to a neighbour who has a boat, 3 cars and regularly travels overseas who complains about traffic driving to work
It never ceases to amaze me that the same kind of peopel who spent 3 years moaning about vaccine passports, check-ins and general hate "government regulation" cheer loudly in favour of regulating bicycles to require number plates, get licences etc...
Petrol or electric, monsters like this have no place on city streets.
Australia needs to hurry up and regulate vehicle sizes. I don't give a shit if people "love" big cars, they are not appropriate, safe or reasonable on public streets.
So
@Barnaby_Joyce
reckons Greenies prevented hazard reduction burns. A simple search of the NSW Rural Fire Service web site reveals pages and pages of updates of hazard reduction burns in the last 6 months.
Stop lying, Barnaby.
It amuses me when people imply cycling is for the rich elite while cars are for your average citizen.
I just had to spend $1700 on routine maintenance on our two cars, and another $850 next month.
The idea cars are "affordable transport" is the most insidious lie.
When police post about a fatal car crash nobody chimes in with anecdotes about bad driver behaviour they've seen. It's sympathy. Rightly so.
So why is it when they report a fatal cyclist crash do people feel compelled to post about the cyclist they saw do something wrong?
@ronmjm
He fucken did. "2 and a bit percent, and inflation is 3 and a bit percent, and that's a problem". That's enough to demonstrate the point that wage growth is a problem.
Take the L.

Otherwise it's just sparkling political interference in allocation of grant funding."

@JTrea81
Yeah dude, much better to leave the road clear so the cars can run into non-fixed objects - like animals, children and other cars. Just anything but slowing down the cars so that collisions are less fatal - not that.

Pssst...don't tell Caroline that our public schools, public hospitals, universal health care, pensions and public transport systems are all forms of socialism...
@JohnBirmingham
@AndrewLamingMP
@JoshFrydenberg
Indeed. I haven't seen any politician march into a bushfire and tell fire crews "NO BACK BURNING!"
Because, that's when back burning is done - DURING a fire.
A well informed country boy (lol) like Laming would know the difference between back burning and hazard reduction, surely
This kind of deflection of responsibility is appalling. Operate a vehicle, YOU have responsibility to stop at crossings, and be ready to do so. The automotive industry needs to be put back in its box.
@SkyNewsAust
@carolinemarcus
Err, no, they just see how effective democratic socialism is. Northern and Western Europe are a great example of focussing energy towards public services, while still having a free and open democracy.

On what planet can an unemployed/ under employed single woman in her 50s, with minimal super or assets, who can't afford private rent, ever afford to buy a house?
For the 3rd time since June, Brisbane City Council has removed the memorial bike for Phil Pawsey who was struck while riding his bike to work and killed in Nudgee Road.
No other memorial bikes get removed like this. People's memorials being removed is wrong.
What is going on?

Imagine of all these mostly new bike-riders in Paris were still driving cars, but had switched to electric cars instead of bikes. The same car gridlock that Paris had before, more pollution, & a worse city for people by every measure. HT

As a dad, to the dads sliding in your mentions saying it's hard too, just don't. Yes, it's challenging, but we do not have the societal expectations, guilt and judgment that gets heaped on mums.
Ditch the whataboutism fellas. Seriously.

The lack of training and support for these exploited workers is shameful.
Any other industry that had 4 workers die on the job in 3 months would be the subject of a major inquiry.
@PollyDunning
And I feel uncontrollable anger when I hear Federal politicians dismissing teachers concerns, demanding they go back to work, without any notion of support for your health, your safety, or any suggestion how to manage the nightmare that is pickup and drop off.
Drivists: You cyclists reporting illegal driving are grasses!
Also Drivists: Cyclists should have to have a number plate so we can report illegal cycling!
😆
@OurNewHomecoach
Such a missed opportunity. For example, talking about Finland's education model. Formal school not starting until 7 years of age, no standardised testing etc, and they kick our arse. Why don't we talk to visiting leaders about their successes in areas we are failing?

So instead of using the straight road as an opportunity to overtake safely, you chose to pick up your phone and take a photo.
Smart.
We can't provide bike infrastructure, footpaths and shady canopies like in the Netherlands because Brisbane streets are far too narrow and constrained.

@Instantregretes
I didn't see any karma. The driver of the car honking illegally at a pedestrian legally walking in a shared space just drove off scot free.
The following are replies to this video showing pretty clearly a driver deliberately hitting a man riding a bicycle.

It is absolutely alien as an Australian to see people who a) think there's an ever present risk that someone is doing to bust through your door and try to kill you and b) that the first thing you should do is shoot someone who comes in your home...
You people are broken.
My dad is a staunch, almost militant atheist that would make Richard Dawkins blush. So when the hospital chaplain came in to see him today, and memories of dad's impassioned "debates" with religious people flooding back, I tensed in my seat a little. 1/
The messaging on here that if you don't vote 1 ALP then you're voting Liberal is so cooked and dishonest.
We have preferential voting. The only way you vote Liberal is if you give them a lower number than ALP.
Let
@thejuicemedia
remind you.
Awesome. So Brisbane City Council is removing this zebra crossing near my house, near a school, a sports reserve, shops and residents. And replacing it with a 2 stage indented refuge crossing.
In other words prioritising cars over pedestrians. Suburban Corridor Modernisation 🤦♂️

Seems pretty extraordinary that a long time Labor member doesn't recognise that a raised fist is a symbol of worker solidarity. But then I guess that explains a lot about how modern Labor has lost its way
@TurnbullMalcolm
We wish you'd have said what you really thought more as prime minister, Malcolm.
How do we eradicate the climate denial that has infested the Liberal party?
Or should we just declare the Liberal party a climate criminal organisation and outlaw its existence?
I spent over 4 minutes waiting to cross this intersection. If you treat pedestrians and cyclists like 2nd class citizens you get unsustainable levels of car traffic. (Yes this video is seriously boring, and is only half the wait...)

Amazing. Someone taking a position, then after having conversations with people, taking in new evidence, changing that position based on that new information.
That's what adults do. Nice to see.

Look at this war on drivers. Those pedestrians using invisibility cloaks to frame a poor, innocent, law abiding motorist for running them over.

Hi Phillip. I'm Australian. 40 years old. My entire adult life has been post gun control. Crime in all categories is on a downward trend.
Please do not lie to suit your agenda.
I think it'd be really good if journos wouldn't stick up for hack propagandists like Rachel Baxendale. Admit she's being completely disingenuous and partisan in her questioning of Dan Andrews, or just let her cop the entirely valid criticism she is receiving.
