New preprint from collaboration with @SN_Lab - 2p imaging of psilocybin's effects on neurovascular coupling 🔬 We found that psilocybin prolongs the neurovascular response, independent of neural activity. This affects how we should interpret fMRI BOLD studies of #psychedelics‼️
Excited to share our latest work is up on bioRxiv! Looking at capillary flow speed changes we show that psilocybin prolongs the neurovascular coupling response to a visual stimulus. 🍄🔬🧠🩸 Preprint: https://t.co/hiScWAbSZ1

Why do we ignore brain state during stimulation? @jessicamross8 developed sensory entrained TMS (seTMS) - sync TMS to musical beats to time stimulation when circuits are most receptive. Could be a low-cost, scalable way to boost outcomes. More to come.
What happens when you combine music and brain stim? 🎵⚡🧠 Our team found timing TMS pulses with music enhanced brain responses - an exciting potential pathway to improve stim effects. LOTS more to do! Grateful to our village @StanfordBrain 🙏. Esp the developer @jessicamross8

#GRCPsychedelics meeting this week was excellent. I learned a lot, had many meaningful conversations, and am convinced more than ever that we need to focus more effectively on forward- and back-translation in psychedelic neuroscience Thank you Alex and Vlad for organizing
Can’t believe #GRCPsychedelics is happening in two weeks! We reached capacity attendance – sorry we could not accommodate everyone. We look forward to seeing many of you at the meeting. w/ @VVyazovskiy @ViditaVaidya @MelissaHerman4
