Started this hot morning strong with leaders from @EasternHS & @EliotHine, DCPS, MPD, Safe Passages, @CMWendellFelder & SBOE @BrandonBest (W6) @Eboni_RoseDC (W7) to walk the blocks of these two great schools serving Ward 6 & 7 before new year starts. Working across boundaries!

I don't know. SBOE doesn't have authority to initiate policy. I do know that as of April 2025, 28 states had published guidance on AI in k-12 schools: see https://t.co/6wGPZuJtD1 What's next for DC?

When ChatGPT debuted in 2022, no states had policies related to generative artificial intelligence (genAI). Fast forward to April 2025, and at least 28

Thank you, @councilofdc, for approving new @WTUTeacher/@dcpublicschools contract. This will improve teacher supports and District efforts to recruit and retain the best and brightest!

@FrankJAvery These are those small neighborhood victories that really speak to what a great ANC like you can accomplish. It seems small/trivial but makes a difference and no one but an ANC would've addressed it. You've been a hell of a commissioner, Frank, and 6B is a better place for it 😃

My semi-joke post aside, my legitimate biggest accomplishment just went into effect today(ish). When I first started as a commissioner, I worked w Mayor’s office, @BrandonBest and @briankirrane to highlight the woefully substandard NC Ave/4th St @BrentElementary school zone.

My semi-joke post aside, my legitimate biggest accomplishment just went into effect today(ish). When I first started as a commissioner, I worked w Mayor’s office, @BrandonBest and @briankirrane to highlight the woefully substandard NC Ave/4th St @BrentElementary school zone.
With the election done and my term as a commissioner coming to an end, I wanted to share what I think is my greatest accomplishment: getting this trap door replaced after (at least) six years of being warped, tripping hazard and looking like you could fall through at any time.

This week, @councilofdc voted to pass B25-0571. Schools district-wide will soon have an action plan for students with a diagnosed seizure disorder. Shout out to @BrandonBest, @CMRobertWhiteDC and @charlesallen for spearheading this important measure!
