What’s happening in our city right now is not about crime. It’s about power and control. My thanks to Wolf Blitzer for highlighting the perspectives of Washingtonians in this moment.

Thank you, Mayor Bowser, for your years of service and dedication to this city we love. It’s rare these days for leaders to choose to step away from power, and doing so speaks volumes about your commitment to public service. I’m wishing you all the best in your next chapter.
It has been the honor of my life to be your Mayor. Together, we have built a legacy of success of which I am intensely proud. With a grateful heart, I am announcing that I will not seek a fourth term. For the next 12 months, let's run through the tape and keep winning for DC.

Kept a promise to DCI students to come back for a Dragon TV interview about public service and what I love about Ward 5 and the District. It was a good time!

Join me in celebrating a huge victory for working-class families across the District: we secured the first-ever District Child Tax Credit and an acceleration of the Earned Income Tax Credit expansion. 🎉

Today colleagues and I approved an increased earned income tax credit & re-established a child tax credit. At a time when the Mayor’s budget was balanced on the backs of working families @CMZParker5 & @CMFrumin found a way to undo some of that damage.

Today, the DC Council passed an amendment to the "decoupling" bill expanding the earned income tax credit and restoring the child tax credit, strengthening economic security for our client community. Thank you @councilofdc, @CMZParker5 & @CMFrumin for your leadership!
