Very stupid move. Cities tend to be highly productive and so generate growth with positive spillover effects for neighbouring towns and villages.
We need to double down on making cities more productive and make it easier for people living in towns and villages to get to them.
We need to change the way this country does politics.

Nobody has more respect for people aged 60-75 than me (they're our Greatest Generation) but we shouldn't expect then to be on public transport so early.
