For anyone who doesn't want to watch the video, the text of my short speech on the assisted suicide Bill is here: 👇
I argued in the Lords today that the assisted suicide Bill sends us down a dangerous road. We can't pick and choose which ethical principles we observe without depriving us of the most basic moral protections in future. "I urge us all to ask ourselves - are we really

Couldn't have put it better myself. This is the economic agenda.
When we actually did have deregulation and resource extraction standards of living were steadily rising. We also have the counterfactual in America which didn’t as heavily regulate their economy and are doing better. Every aspect of the British economy has been regulated to the

What is "cultural coherence"? (as @Katie_Lam_MP put it this week). It's surely more than vague 'British values'. It's knowledge of this country's history and achievements. We need to define this, and then teach it. My @Telegraph column this week. 👇 https://t.co/h1J0UC1F12

This is a truly remarkable, and chilling, statement from Lord Falconer. 👇 Once you start down the road of allowing the state to kill people, this is where you inevitably get to. And there is further to go along this road yet.
Lord Falconer says people with “learning difficulties or autism” could, with “proper assistance”, access assisted suicide. That should alarm every Peer in the Lords. Vulnerable people don’t need help to die. They need support to live.

Personally, I’d rather not live in a country where people with learning difficulties or autism are told that they can just kill themselves.

The @InstituteGC has dealt a body blow to Ed Miliband’s Clean Power 2030 myth. This is welcome news. But its solution is wrong. You can’t build a high-energy economy on low-density and unreliable inputs. Read our full statement ↓ https://t.co/HS0ZIQyU96

The last King known to have met the Pope and presumably pray with him was Aethelwulf who took the four year old Alfred, subsequently the Great, to Rome in AD 855 to meet Leo IV. In comparison the Reformation is modern history.
‘This is a wonderful symbolic gesture of Christian unity.’ Jacob Rees-Mogg reacts to the King and Queen visiting Pope Leo XIV in Rome, and that the 'union' of two heads of churches ‘coming together’ may help inspire an understanding of the 'fundamentals of faith’.

This was 💯 inevitable. It’s not a matter of political will. It was always impossible and it is a sign of how deluded the political class is that they thought it could be done.

This sounds a truly terrible idea. Has the @CER_EU finally been captured by the industry lobby @CER_Grant ? PS I assume UK manufacturers need not apply. https://t.co/MAkqfze5te

Imagine if you got all your news from CarbonBrief and then saw this story. You’d be completely dumbfounded, like a devoted Pravda reader turning the TV on for the first time in November 1989.

Is Keir Starmer finally waking up? Ed’s renewables auction will lock every family in this country into sky-high energy bills for twenty years. Keir must call time on this botched auction before it’s too late.

It looks like the Government is being forced into action because of the potential failure of AR7. The next few weeks are going to be critical for energy policy in the UK.

You hardly need a "secret report" to tell us that the Home Office is "dysfunctional" and "detached from reality". It's been like that for decades. 👇
EXCLUSIVE from @GeorgeGreenwood Shabana Mahmood has admitted the Home Office is 'not yet fit for purpose' after a secret report found it was dysfunctional, detached from reality and beset by a 'culture of defeatism' on immigration The home secretary said the department had
