In August, it was 20 years since the death of Robin Cook – probably New Labour's best performer in the House. This clip is one of only two times he handled PMQs and shows how assured he was at the despatch box: https://t.co/qyu4WwltJz

Really sad to hear that Patricia Routledge has passed away. A fantastic actress best known for Keeping Up Appearances. Here she is in pure Hyacinth mode keeping it under control for British Gas in 1992. RIP Patricia.

I remember chatting to Patricia Routledge on the phone when I worked for Frank Field, since she and Frank were such close friends. From the first moment she was warm, gracious, and utterly hilarious. Within minutes she had me in stitches. RIP.
