@BizarreLazar
"We don't need to rush you to leaving" - It's funny when folks panic at a mistake they've made and try to walk it back with a word salad. Even funnier when they have time enough to write something down and still do it.
@BlueBoxDave
The punchline is that white people can't tolerate spicy food. The reason it's a joke is that whether one can handle spice or not has nothing to do with ethnicity per se. So the reason it's funny is because Harris and Walz are obviously poking fun at that harmless stereotype.
@TRUmav
Flying into an airport, Jordan bet his teammates that his bag would be first out of the chute at baggage claim.
Jordan won the bet, because he had paid the guys handling the bags on tarmac to send his through first.
@AoDespair
I must be the only one who didn't clock it as a dick joke at the time. I thought he was doing a bit where he catches himself mimicking Trump's "bigger-smaller" hand gestures.

The weirdest thing I've learned about flat-Earthers is not that they think the Earth is flat. It's that they apparently also believe ONLY the Earth is flat.

Shapiro doesn't pretend his law degree makes him an expert in biology. This guy kept repeating that his degrees in physics and math did make him just such an expert.
@FightHaven
I know it's not staged because it has the obligatory moment where the guy holding his phone inexplicably loses the action in his frame for a solid four seconds.

Doxxing in CA is illegal if it rises to the level of online harassment, which is itself defined as intending to place the alleged victim in fear for their safety.

I'm not fan of Bloomberg, but to me, the proper framing isn't that he's willing to buy the election, it's that the people are so eager to sell it to him.

And he also did a (previously unscheduled) press event this morning where he spoke about it at length.
The irony is, these Twitter-scolds don't care one bit about the victims. It's all about scoring political points for their team and validating their own moral superiority.

In 2020, there's still a woman in North Carolina receiving Civil War survivor benefits. Irene Triplett, born in 1924 - whose father fought for the Union in 1862.

CGI can make De Niro look 40 years younger, but it's clear the man is far too old to convincingly stomp anyone to death on a sidewalk anymore.
@EliManning
New idea for MNF. The two HCs in the weekly game should get a phone lifeline to either Peyton or Eli at any point in the game for clock management advice. If not them, then any eleven-year-old who's ever played Madden.
@DawgMan78
@JimmyPrinceton
Let them be. All the nonsense about Walz and Stolen Valor is getting completely debunked. There's a tape of Trump lavishing praise on the guy for how he handled the George Floyd riots. And their VP is still a couch fucker.
They're having a rough day.
@ringer
I don't know if Andrew has enough support to pull this off, but I do know that polls only measure relative support between candidates - not relative levels of enthusiasm. Yang supporters will step in front of a train for their guy in a way you wouldn't see for other candidates.
@Grosdoriane
Every few years, a fresh batch of 19-year-olds discover that Robert Downey Jr. once played a character in blackface, and the resulting freakout would have you believe that Tropic Thunder was just some indy festival flic that nobody saw back in 2008.
@DawgMan78
@JimmyPrinceton
You just proved my point. He didn't say he served in combat. He said he carried a weapon of war, in war. Which he did. It was called Operation Enduring Freedom. He defended bases in Italy. Were the odds of seeing combat good? Not especially, but the it was a wartime assignment.

To whatever extent CRT is happening in public schools (and it is happening to some extent), there's a smarter political answer than to simply claim CRT doesn't exist in public schools and thereby imply that anyone who thinks it does is a rube.

I'm old enough to remember when the word "grifter" was more than a bland pejorative, and blithely lobbed at someone like a smokebomb in an attempt to obscure truth.

The implication that you need to actually trade fire with the enemy to say you served in a war is likely pretty insulting to a lot of veterans. But keep it up. I'm sure people will really respond to this stuff.

Can you people please pipe down with the endless complaining about Rogan? I'm trying to listen to R. Kelly and Chris Brown on my Spotify playlists, and the outrage cycle over a comedian saying bad words is really quite distracting.

He was obviously talking about not publishing these self-aggrandizing manifestos some of these mass shooters are writing. The fact is, Andrew has been warning us for months that some of these truckers (many of whom are ex-military) will take their inevitable displacement poorly.
@SamHarrisOrg
Great stuff here, but I'm not sure it's a good move to be running a book promotion for BJJ students to jump in and help police restrain uncooperative suspects.

@D4LL4SWINSTON
What happened is that 20 year old men aren't generally interested in 49 year old women. And unhappily single women can't accept that reality, so they try to shame men for dating younger women. Completely oblivious to how sexist they sound.

Pretending that a comedy bit that went over great had anything to do with Vince McMahon, and that any of the adult women in the audience felt victimized? Yeah, I guess.

Amanda is probably the only person on Earth with command of an audience who is making any effort to remind people about Meredith Kercher and her family. If she wasn't speaking up, you'd probably never hear Meredith's name again.

I think his point was allowing Rittenhouse to choose his jury in a blind drawing isn't a particularly good example of him receiving preferential treatment.

As mad as a certain percentage of fans are at Daniel Jones for how he played last year, it'll be nothing compared to how mad they'll be at him if he shows up this year and plays well.
@DanClarkReports
This isn't a puff piece or even an analysis of the race - just a straight long-form interview with Andrew where I believe he showcases himself to his best effect.
Also, your intuition that the prestige/legacy media dislikes Yang is mostly correct.

He didn't "make a promise," he set a goal - an ambitiously high one, something that businesses often do. And in his book, and on the trail, he went on at length to describe how our economy's fundamental weakness, and the oncoming rush of automation/AI, hampered his efforts.

As a man in his late 20s, Robert Byrd was an enthusiastic member of the KKK. After he left, he spent his life apologizing for it, and AFAIK, nobody ever questioned his sincerity. He served in the US Senate for 51 years.

@JimmyPrinceton
By the way, the guy retired in 2001 after serving 20 years in uniform, then re-enlisted after 9/11. This is the guy you're going to try and paint as some sort of stolen valor coward.
Tread lightly. A lot of veterans are paying attention.
@akarl_smith
Biden's skipped a bunch of campaign events already. I've got no problem with him skipping a 5-minute speech to be with family, but he shouldn't push his luck. Yang's not wrong when he talks about the obligations of the job he's running for, and he's got two kids of his own.
@nyg_pete
A week ago, he said he was ready to sacrifice his coaching career for The Cause.
Today, he's pissed because another (better accomplished) black coach got a head coaching job instead of him.
Now we know: The Cause is Brian Flores.

The only people on Earth who care about this are people who would choose Trump over Biden or Harris 100 times out of 100. So please spare us your pearl clutching. Your guy is getting ready overturn the results of this upcoming election if it doesn't go his way.
