The Fair Representation Act would accomplish proportional representation and end all gerrymandering. With it, we'd start seeing third party representation in Congress. With the spoiler effect gone, we'd finally see the first 3rd party president of the US.

If I were a megabillionaire who decided to single-handedly end the two-party system with my wealth, I wouldn't create yet another 3rd party. I'd put a ton of money into getting ranked-choice voting passed in every possible state. I'd make the Fair Representation Act my big goal.

Pretty sure this isn't the official website of Elon's new third party - The America Party - but I do appreciate the inclusion of universal basic income pilots. Although really, we've done enough pilot projects and should just implement UBI for real ASAP.

To many of you hard-working Republicans and independents out there with jobs and also Medicaid and/or SNAP who voted for Trump and GOP reps in Congress, you're about to learn the hard way that work requirements removes benefits from many employed people, due to all the paperwork.

I like that a component of these new stimulus payments are fully universal, but I dislike how it's not cash. It's vouchers that can only be spent at small or medium-sized local businesses, that expire on Nov 30 so must be spent by then and can't be saved.

Very interesting news out of South Korea for UBI enthusiasts. Seems like they want to dip their toe into a hybrid UBI design. Everyone is going to get about $110, and then an extra $300–$400 will go to those below or near poverty. Those living in rural areas will get an extra $40.

Universal basic income is what true independence would look like. A high enough UBI would be FU money for all of society. They don't want you to have the power to refuse low wages and the freedom to make your own choices and pursue what you want. It's why we have to fight for it!

People need to understand that a UBI is a foundation. It's supportive and enabling. Money isn't the only thing we need, but it's one thing we all need, and having a base of it to depend on means being better able to find meaningful pursuits and be an active part of communities.

Amazon employs 1.56M people, and it also now employs over 1M robots. With robots, it's been able to lower the number of people per facility and increase the number of packages shipped per employee. This is on its way economy-wide and we need to make sure we all benefit with UBI.

It's infuriating to me how, as a UBI advocate, I'm expected to answer the question, "But how do we pay for it?" constantly by the same people who simply do not actually care about deficits and will spend any amount of money on the military, and detaining and deporting immigrants.
