Nearly 90% of farmed animals are chickens. Researchers counted and estimated that of the 1,100 hours they live before being killed, 700 of them are in pain. That's over 60% of their life. We could fix this with better breeds, at a cost of pennies per life saved from agony.

Besides the obvious idiocies here, the Roman influence on the Anglo-Saxons was very small. The "ME religion" came 1500 years ago, not 2000, and everything else even later.
Britain has been multicultural for the last 2000 years. That's why we have the Roman alphabet, a Middle East religion, Arabic numerals, a Syrian patron saint, an aristocracy with French ancestry and a German royal family.

@FurtherOr the problem is that in 2025 things are beginning to creak and we need to "pay" more. Whether that's the French retiring at 58 (horreurs) or us building some Dark Satanic Mills on our Greenbelt and Pleasant Land.
