I’m building a team of experts to develop a roadmap for how Britain and Europe can take their place among the great space powers in the 22nd century. Investments now will make the difference. We need to lobby government, build new businesses, and develop technology (1/2)

The law will just require old people to take an eye test to verify they can still see well enough to drive. Having sacrificed significant parts of our income for boomers, we are now asked to sacrifice our lives for them. You're just a blurry walking piggy bank bouncing off their.

I don’t want my sons to have the same opportunities as everyone else. I want them to have more. I want them to have an easier life than mine. I want to give them every advantage I can, knowing that every other parent is also doing that for their kids. Is this controversial?.

The guys protesting @JDVance to "prove" the UK has free speech are likely unaware they are performing an old Soviet joke Ronald Reagan told.

The fact that this sort of thing is considered news shows that most people have absolutely no conception of the actual scale of the UK state. This is about 40 parts per billion of total spending.

The problem isn’t that the Chancellor is going to raise taxes. It’s that unless something drastic changes, she and her successors are going to have to do it again, and again, and again. Me for @thetimes - thread follows (1/?)

It also took a number of experiments demonstrating that the established paradigm of physics at the time could not be complete, and required alternate explanations. Even if you can put superintelligence in a box, it can’t do that part.

General Relativity took 8 years of Einstein's brain's test time compute. Once AI reaches into the task durations of years to decades it will begin to invent whole new theories about the physical world. This is the new scaling axis.

This is the end point of a bloated higher ed sector full of non performing institutions and a hamfisted attempt to prioritise skilled immigration. If you can’t run a university, just run a visa farm.
