(1/3) In @theJNS, we report how AtlasGPT—a neurosurgery-specific LLM grounded via RAG—can outperform out-of-the-box frontier models (GPT-4, Gemini), generates higher-quality explanations in a blind rating by 15 neurosurgeons, and resists adversarial attacks of misinformation
Can AI help automate exam prep material in fields like neurosurgery? In a blind test, we had 15 neurosurgeons compare standard Q-bank answer explanations vs AtlasGPT (a neurosurgery-tuned GPT-4 RAG model) AtlasGPT won… more comprehensive and better referenced

Excited to see my postdoctoral work published @ScienceMagazine! We know that certain commensal bacteria stimulate T cells upon colonization. We wondered, what are these T cells capable of? 1/5

In my 10+ years of co-survivorship, doing life with @DGlaucomflecken through 2 separate cancers, 1 SCA and fighting off his death with 10 mins of #CPR, only ONE (1) of the medical professionals we interacted with has ever asked how I was doing. Meet Roger.

Excited to share my first co-first author paper! We applied computer vision to investigate decades-old burn injury area estimation methods and developed an app for %TBSA calculation in the modern era. Fortunate for the mentorship of @JeffChoi01 @explorersurgeon @DavidASpain

🧵1/ Started with a Q on burn rotation: is a singular Rule of 9's/Lund-Browder chart really applicable for all adult patients? A trip through the primary literature (Wallace 1951 & Lund+Browder 1944… Berkow 1924…to the origins, Dubois 1915 & Sawyer 1916) showed

Trump was never going to be that leader. Here’s a piece that I wrote in Dec 2016, before he was even inaugurated, about how he would deal with a pandemic. His future failings were abundantly clear, even then. https://t.co/3UiKCSzfdG
