Amazing work as always Rong and colleagues. Fascinating too - especially the connection between development and neuroinflammation and “a leading hypothesis is that neurons transmit inflammatory cues to distal sites”
Thrilled see our paper out in @Nature ! 🤩 Wonderful collaboration with @GoCasteloBranco. Kudos to my amazing postdoc @Di_0579 at @YaleEngineering and Leslie Kirby from Goncalo's lab @karolinskainst. Huge team science with @YaleMed @UCSF @ASTARsg

Review from SenNet consortium that promotes the concept of “Senotype” - that senescence phenotype varies by context. A nomenclature first proposed within SenNet by Simon Melov and Nate Basisty. Now an organizing principle within SenNet.

For this MS, super post-doc Hiroshi Tanaka chose to manipulate nucleosome stability and assess impact on cell identity, resilience and aging. The data support that idea that nucleosome stability promotes phenotypic maintenance and healthy aging. https://t.co/cT22p9qdq2

This is exciting to me because it can help to explain how somatic mutation accumulation drives characteristic degenerative phenotypes of aging “gene length- and expression-level-dependent rates of somatic mutation in neurons”. I think @schumacherbj says the same. Correct Bjorn?

Yes, this was a great meeting and wonderful hospitality. Thanks @MariaMMota2 and colleagues @GIMM_Institute I learnt about “macrophAGING” and “immunoneuroendocrine” aging. Thanks Claudio Franceschi! GIMM also had some inspiring videos which I hope they post.
Three fantastic days in Lisbon for the @GIMM_Institute Festival. Insightful talks and great conversations! My favorite quote came from @MariaMMota2 "Scientists are optimists. They admit when they don’t know but believe one day they will."
