English is basically the best mix of European languages there is. Furthermore, it shall become even more Europeanised over time. We don't have to reinvent the wheel, and we have to protect our own mother languages. But English is perfect as a secondary language.
The EU shall make English the official language. No more millions wasted on translations ! And since the UK left, it is a relatively neutral language which everyone understands.
