Sharing JinYoung's latest work @UCSFAging @UCSFstemcell in collaboration with @Lindsay_LaFave on how senescent fibroblasts program tumor plasticity and metabolism @CellStemCell. JY is starting her own lab @inhauniv to continue this work. https://t.co/yWUfgq4WAB

I receive heartbreaking messages like this one that reminds me of why I became a scientist. Government funding for research is the major reason our patients with lung fibrosis have hopes for a cure, so let us do our jobs. @PFFORG #WhoScienceSaves

This is a picture of my son, born 11 years ago. I had a very rare pregnancy complication. Without the amazing doctors @umichmedicine and a lot of US funded research into speeding the development of premature lungs, he wouldn't have made it. But I want to hear, Who has Science

Beautiful obituary for Leonard Hayflick, who discovered senescence and questioned our quest for immortality. https://t.co/5KbgSwPD9A

A biomedical researcher, he found that normal cells can divide only a certain number of times before they age — which, he said, explained aging on a cellular level.

Excited to share our latest preprint in collaboration with @Lindsay_LaFave to define the role of senescent fibroblasts in modifying tumor plasticity, uncovering a unique tumor-stromal interaction that rewires lipid metabolism in aggressive lung cancer. https://t.co/7IuhOl2AD5

Senescence has been demonstrated to either inhibit or promote tumorigenesis. Resolving this paradox requires spatial mapping and functional characterization of senescent cells in the native tumor...

I'm deeply saddened to share that we have lost a remarkable friend, a wonderful mentor and esteemed colleague, Judith Campisi. Judith's impact on those around her was profound and lasting. Her legacy will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, Judy. You will be greatly missed

Appreciate @ICSA_senescence for the opportunity to add nuance to the discussion of whether senescent cells are beneficial or detrimental (IT'S CONTEXT DEPENDENT!). https://t.co/ATQVuhgtXs

Grateful for the opportunity to present our work on fibroblast therapeutics @GRClung2023. Just kind of wished there was more Chinese food options like @PandaExpress. #corporate #sponsor #pandaexpressendowedprofessor?

It was a savage matchup again of the annual lung epithelium vs mesenchyme soccer game @GRClung2023. We balanced the teams by EMT and played our hearts out. Thanks to Dr. Warburton for refereeing as he has for the past decade of lung meetings! #workhardplayhard #grclung2023

Although our new story is published @ImmunityCP in collaboration with @Molofsky_lab, it is a #stemcell story at heart, highlighting an interferon-sensitive epithelial stem cell reservoir that is suppressed by tissue resident lymphocytes in #COPD. https://t.co/ZCbjbkCpGg
