The “everything sucks” doomerism of the far left and right is wrong. Worse, it needlessly radicalizes people. Today is better than yesterday and tomorrow is going to be even better. So here’s a list of 50 areas where we're seeing progress. 1/

I’m NOT sure we get sink any lower. We are now using Winnie the Pooh to teach our youngest children how to confront gun violence in schools.Even an eternal optimist like me is losing hope.

I finished my bachelor degree in ‘21. Completed my MBA in ‘22. Finishing classes to complete my MSBA for ‘23. We also became National Champions. I would do another year if I could. I never want to move on to the real world.

Rand Pecknold’s full story needs to be told far and wide. Starting a program on a shoestring, building a powerhouse, signing Michael Torello, choosing the “right” players, win or lose.

Building a culture has nothing to do with facilities. It has everything to do with whom you let into the building.

I’ve gotten excited about change in fed education laws in the past, only to end up disappointed. I’m rooting for @RepBowman to champion this one across the finish line!!

Any teachers out there using any of these reading programs? According to the State of CT (and probably others) this is the magic bullet. Implementing one of these programs will ensure 100% of kids will be able to read at grade level. Please share your success stories.

What every individual, organization, team, etc. should heed. All successful teams, individuals, etc., have goals. They all have ambitions. Systems (HABITS!!) are what can separate an individual, team, organization from the pack.

And this is why we have kids play sports, belong to arts prog’s, commit & be accountable to extracurricular clubs, etc.All opps for life prep.Having an adult lead you thru that (coach, advisor, etc.)is how we develop skills for life. How can we replicate this in schools/classrooms?

If your coach holds you accountable, you are VERY fortunate. A lot of coaches accept their players doing whatever they want, whenever they want with no consequences. Discipline/responsibility/accountability are life prep! If your coach cares that much, you’re lucky so respect it!

Any chance we can get a few hundred thousand more people like guy in leadership positions across the country? Of all the crises out there, the abject lack of leadership is right at the top of my list.

Every school has essentially the same mission: “Preparing kids for their future…” What matters, is not the quality of words in the frame, but the quality of relationships in the building.
