My statement on Republicans’ messy funding fight:

Today, @SenWarren and I, along with our colleagues, reintroduced the Care for All Agenda resolution to dramatically expand and strengthen the care economy and improve conditions and compensations for care workers nationwide 🧵.

When we fight for the infrastructure that enables us all to give and receive care, we are all better off. But care workers, disproportionately Black and brown women, are undervalued and exploited in America today, and people and families struggle to access care.

Without a holistic care infrastructure to support us, our economy and society simply cannot thrive. I believe with all my heart that bold, public investments in care for people, communities, and the environment can anchor the rebirth of our country and secure our future.

Mom, I love you and I thank you. Congress is better because of you, because of what you raised me to be.

The next Congress must have the courage to fight for working class people and be true representatives of their constituents. Otherwise, we have to ask ourselves, why are we here? What are we here for?

Recently met attorney @mariakari1414 who shared that she’s working on her 4th lawsuit on behalf of Americans trapped in Gaza. 412 days - that’s how long these people have been waiting for @potus & @statedept to act.

The closure of Rafah crossing is no excuse because the U.S. has successfully advocated for American doctors & urgent medical cases to exit Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing.

America, the death & suffering of these people is on us. This isn’t who we are. We can do better. @potus bring these people home.

Denying Palestinian Americans–including doctors–entry to Palestine is unacceptable. We can't allow discrimination like this under the Visa Waiver Program. Proud to join @RepSummerLee to hold Israel accountable.
