THIS!!! This is literally how I got my life back. Treatment to shelter to supportive housing to actual housing. It works. I'm through the moon happy for whoever gets to live in this building when complete. Their lives will change for the better.
This housing will give people a chance to stabilize their physical & mental health, seek the support they need, maybe reconnect with family & begin the process to regain custody of their children.
Housing is Health Care. These homes will save lives. 3/

Actually there are harm reduction services in the DTES that have outreach nurses that can literally get you into a detox centre or on a wait list should you WANT that. My first contact to treatment was the the safe injection site at insight. I did detox and treatment at onsight
