3) Value in diverse data curation: Capturing underserved datasets is inefficient for centralized mappers, but Natix captures these areas through crypto incentives and network effects. Driving information differs drastically by region, making geographically diverse data valuable.

@ai_bond_connery If the subnet is providing real value, you can assume there is cost to develop. If there is cost to develop, they will need to sell tokens to cover cost. Selling tokens is actually a sign of a healthy blockchain. Just like bitcoin miners selling daily to cover costs

@ErikVoorhees @elonmusk @xai @grok grok is open sourced. the definition of open-source for AI really should just be model weights. and what does centralized mean here? you can run it however you like… the team @akashnet_ had (might still have?) grok running there. definite kudos to elon here

@lukeisverylucky @PhilJBonello quite different use cases honestly. TIG focuses very specifically on algo optimizations. i think there is a ton of value in trying to do one thing very very well. less tradeoffs in design when your scope is focused.

@blugoose13 definitely non-trivial. obviously the access to a lot of low cost power is a huge requirement that miners already have, but the rest of the infrastructure is completely different and significantly more difficult to setup. need to be hosted in cooled/clean environments, networking

@BrettKessler_ @akashnet_ Very supportive of Akash… team is great to work with— the gpu marketplace is incredible. We are seeing a ton of traffic on our GPUs. As more devs find out they can rent compute at a quarter of the price of AWS, Akash will be capture a ton of marketshare from the cloud providers

1) Passive data curation: users simply enable the driving app on their smartphone, and data is collected with little to no additional work from the user

the energy at ethDenver is pretty exciting. last year it felt tired. there was also major focus on rollups. now it feels super energized + tons of focus on dAI +depin seeing the passion by builders + people trying to solve problems is infectious.

Who will win? 1) some computer nerds messing around with TCP/IP trying to send messages to eachother 2) the massively funded United States Postal Service who has been delivering mail for over 200 years still gonna bet on #2 ? everything seems stupid when its early!

@tommyeastman21 Who will win? 1) Some crypto bro copy pasting an algo he has no idea about, tweaking it slightly with GPT in hope to get some tokens in return 2) institutions who pay algo creators multiple 6 digits (+ boni) My bet is on 2 🤷🏼‍♂️

i think we are still a bit away from AGI (min. 5yrs) but i do think some sort of pseudo-Manhattan Project for AI Safety should be a very legitimate conversation (for people that are far smarter than me)

AI risk 1: existential risk. My p(doom) is around 0.1. You don't have to buy this story, but IMO it's worth worrying about.

While Natix was my inspiration for DCNs, many projects will capitalize on edge-computing improvements and the high price tag on AI datasets. Through distributed coordination, DCNs create unique and valuable datasets that are in high demand but otherwise impossible to generate.
