I first got originalism from reading @RandyEBarnett's Lost Constitution in HS. As far as I knew/know, Barnett was and is prochoice, and believed abortion is protected under 9A or P&I. Would be happy to hear this isn't the case wrt Prof. Barnett specifically, but it debunks.
So the way it works is we are attracted to the judicial philosophies that validate the beliefs we really care about. There's no neutral choice. Originalism grew out of pro-lifers like Scalia and Bork who wanted to condemn Roe. It grew beyond that, but that planted the seed.

Maybe. But I'd trust the 1% of people willing to admit guilt as frankly as Gladwell does a *lot* more than I'd trust the 95% of such people who behaved the same but won't. There is literally nothing that will build your credibility better than a genuine confession.
its good that people are admitting they were lying because they were afraid, and it's understandable. but i also think if you admit this people are reasonable in concluding that you should never be trusted on anything else. your integrity is compromised.

This was a truly surreal interview, with @NPRinskeep treating her as if she personally is the historical record. Zero pushback on even the most obviously deranged claims. Didn't even treat them as allegations, or note the total absence of corraboration or credibility.
