We may have a new opponent, but it’s the same Old Boys Club: handing the reins to corporate lobbyists and CEOs and telling New Yorkers to ask for less. I’m confident the 103rd will once again reject that tired agenda.

As someone who (1) ran as a democratic socialist candidate (2) personally spoke to thousands of voters, including Republicans (3) WON by 20 points, I can tell you that hardly anyone thinks the problem is that the party has moved too far to the left.

Some people ask why we are primarying certain Democrats. This is why. With a NY Democratic Supermajority, the obstacle to vital and popular legislation on climate, housing, and healthcare isn't the GOP, but senior leadership regularly putting corporate interests over public need.

We envision our public schools to be nothing less than a model of care and learning. Diverting money into charter schools is a half-measure we can’t afford. #ChartersNonStarter

🔊 Excited to announce that @NYWFP has endorsed our campaign! As one of nine #WeCantWait State Assembly candidates, I will fight to end the Assembly’s culture of complacency, and win working people the sweeping changes we deserve.

We can't let the constraints of profit stall our renewable build out. We have to implement the Build Public Renewables Act to its full potential.

Socialist in Office @sarahana asked Harris what is causing the recent cancellations. Harris attributes them to "supply chain issues and high interest rates." NY can't afford to tie our future to corporations' profit margins. We need renewables NOW, not just when it's profitable.

The beautiful thing about the NYS Socialists in Office Committee is that DSA members play an equally critical role as the electeds. It's what makes us stronger and more effective!

Winning transformative changes in Albany is not the work of one person, it’s always team work! I’m so proud of the historic pieces of legislation we passed last year, but now is not the time to rest on our laurels. Excited to keep moving forward.

AND, more people voted on the @NYWFP line for @PatRyanUC in the special election than what was the winning margin. It's why we said the Hudson Valley is ready to lead! 😉

It’s become abundantly clear in this year’s housing negotiations that the real estate industry is unwilling to make a deal in which tenants are truly protected; that they'll continue to use their seat at the table to weaken existing laws and undermine new protections.

NEW: 38 NYS electeds say NO to rolling back rent stabilization in exchange for a gutted #GoodCause : @SenGianaris : "The people of this great state deserve no less than our full efforts to protect all tenants, not pit one group of renters against another.”

We’ve been countering the myth of millionaire migration the last few years. I’m glad to see the Governor acknowledge that rich New Yorkers aren’t moving to pay less on taxes—working class New Yorkers are moving because they can’t afford to live here!

Hochul links out migration to lack of affordable housing. Noting the housing deal collapse last year, she shared an idea to build more housing on underutilized state owned property. The 15k units she proposed could also touch SUNY, interesting thought as several campuses falter.

Indeed! Much more interesting than giving tax breaks to private developers who’ll never be able to deliver high quality, union-built, permanently affordable housing at the scale we need.

Reading through the Social Housing Development Authority bill. Lots of interesting things the SHDA could do: buy up vacant lots, seize condemned properties through eminent domain, act on behalf of renters who want to buy their building...
