This is what it means to represent your neighborhood. As tenants, my family and I were evicted from our home of over 30 years. When I say we need Good Cause eviction, I mean we needed it yesterday, the day before, and 10 years ago when I was removed from my home.
NEW: Why didn't lawmakers tackle the rent crisis? Maybe because most of them don't rent themselves.
Lawmakers who own their homes are far less likely to support eviction protections and new housing supply than those who rent, we found.
