First responders run toward danger in the most harrowing situations. The Assembly Majority passed bills to strengthen EMS by tackling staffing shortages (A.8086-A), giving municipalities more flexibility to invest, (A.2177-A) and cutting costs with Thruway toll exemptions (A.34).

Speaker Heastie joined Assemblywoman Judy Griffin at Baldwin High School in Nassau County to tour the new wellness center and Innovation Learning Collaboratory. The community invested in these facilities aimed at supporting students’ mental health, and academic growth.
