We celebrate Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez for a historic tenure of fighting for working people in NYC and across the country. We are so proud to call her a Working Families champion!

When tomorrow comes, we will be filled with optimism and ready for the work - governing in a city of 8.5 million people, full of hope, dreams, possibility - and a mandate to deliver for working people.

We're on the brink of making history. We know that we did everything we could to support a new chapter for NYers. Fast and free buses, universal childcare, and freezing the rent are possible.

Since the primary, we have organized at every turn to boost Zohran and mobilize our base to support him on the Working Families ballot line. The Working Families ballot line is how we flex our power and hold elected officials accountable.

In May, WFP was proud to rank @ZohranKMamdani number 1 on our slate and issued an historic cross endorsement of Zohran and @bradlander. Facing down $25 million in dark money spending, Zohran won the primary – proving that people power is stronger than corrupt billionaires.

In response, we doubled down on our new strategy – we built a volunteer effort mobilizing thousands and gathered leaders to speak out against Andrew Cuomo, reminding New Yorkers of his disgraced record.

In 2024, NYC reached an inflection point. Eric Adams had been indicted, NYers were getting squeezed at every turn, and Trump had been reelected. Then, in 2025, Cuomo entered the NYC mayoral primary, threatening NYC with four years of the corrupt, corporate politics of the past

Over the course of TWO YEARS, we leaned into the power of RCV by building a coalition of proven Working Families Party champions. We worked with community leaders, volunteers, and elected officials to build a movement that supported working New Yorkers of all walks of life.

Almost two years ago, when Mayor Adams was first facing accusations of corruption and scandal, NYWFP knew making meaningful impact in the NY election cycle required a bold new strategy. We needed to leverage ranked choice voting (RCV) to elect a WFP champion as our next mayor.

Democratic nominee @ZohranKMamdani voted for himself on the @NYWFP ballot line this morning, his campaign spox tells me. The third party backed him over Cuomo in the primary

As Cuomo begs for Donald Trump’s support in the Mayoral race, it’s no surprise that he’s resorted to explicit racism in the final days of this election. It’s disgusting.
Cuomo, talking to conservative radio host Sid Rosenberg this morning: "God forbid, another 9/11—can you imagine Mamdani in the seat?" Cuomo asks. "He'd be cheering," Rosenberg says. Cuomo paused and chuckled before saying: "That's another problem."
