It's difficult to overstate how common this is becoming in large companies where the manager is sufficiently removed from software engineering. There's tremendous alpha in running a company with *judicious* use of AI. None of these idiots know what they're doing.
Nvidia, $NVDA, CEO Jensen Huang is urging employees to use AI as much as possible — and says they shouldn’t fear that doing so will cost them their jobs, per BI. Huang was reportedly stunned to learn that some managers were discouraging constant AI use. During an all-hands

Disqualifying a game because it had a AI placeholder that was accidentally left in the game and removed in the very first patch for the game is stupid Virtue signalling grift for their irrelevant award show
The Indie Game Awards has disqualified Clair Obscur: Expidtion 33 for its use of GenAI E33 won Game of the Year, but the award was retracted Blue Prince is your new indie Game of the Year winner See more: https://t.co/GOs2LOFnP9

"Bitchin' Betty" is the voice fighter pilots hear in their cockpit. Leslie Shook is the real person whose voice has been used for over 20 years as the cockpit warning system in the F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet fighter jets. The nickname originated in the 1970s–1980s with

The time I found out 10 years ago that scrolling with a Dell touchpad set registry keys every few milliseconds to adjust the scroll rate in a hack way 😵💫 I did hear that someone at Microsoft complained to them about this.

As I've tweeted about before, the Internet used to be much more Scandinavian in 2005 than in 2025. This allowed the Swedes back then to steal an entire country's domain and use it for themselves. (A short thread)

Tulsidas actually probably did to Hindi what Shakespeare did to English. So many Hindi idioms and phrases are descended from Tulsidas. e.g. The phrase "Na ghar ka na ghat ka" (Neither for the home, neither for the ghat) is directly taken from Tulsidas' Kavitavali (1610).

There was a Japanese man named Kotoku Wamura, mayor of a small town, Fudai He spent much of his political capital insisting that an absurdly high 51ft floodgate was built. For decades it was regarded as a waste and mocked; waves that tall were almost unheard of ..Until the 2011
anyone else worried we get like a super carrington event and all major power transformers blow and since we have no backups and prod time is 2yrs the entire country has a 2yr blackout and the government collapses and we starve to death saying “no one could have predicted this”

this is why YAML was banned at AWS as an over-the-wire format. you don't want documents to still be valid when they're truncated
we run 18 million EC2 instances per month. At our scale, we see very rare bugs very frequently. Last week, we received *half* an HTTP request. Not a HTTP 206, literally half a request. Content-Length was 2350 bytes. Body was actually 1200 bytes, and was truncated mid json doc.

I've said this a million times, but TRON is a crazy story and the only reason you don't have a papertrail of people going insane over CGI like they do for AI is because they didn't have Twitter back then. Literally Disney couldn't recruit a single 2D animator to work in it.
@KeyTryer The original Tron was disqualified from nomination for the VFX Oscar because CGI was considered “cheating” (or more precisely, as not work done by people). But most movies do way more roto and comp work now because of CGI. Why hide wires when you can just paint them out?

I’ve been privileged to watch the progress of this important engineering project for over 10 years. It all started with this humble manhole cover at the intersection of Boat Club Road and Chamiers Road. (1/n)

My sources on the ground says: They stole the source… literally. Apparently they tried using a bunch of other versions for past decade could never get enough power out of it. It’s hard to actually just rip one out of a functioning machine without being caught. So they think
China built a working EUV prototype in less than 5 years and the entire venture capital industry hasn’t produced one successful lithography startup. I don’t say this with like joy or to rub it in. But we need to take a hard look at what we are doing wrong. I don’t think the
