I recently noticed that my internal monologue switched from Slovak (my native language) to English. The surprising consequence is that my monologue also changed. I am kinder to myself in English than I was in Slovak as the language is lacking my parents influence.

I have lived in many countries and traveled extensively. No country comes even close to the USA. I am incredibly thankful for the opportunities it afforded me and the life I was able to build here. Happy 4th everyone 🇺🇸.

4/ Two months ago I started running hills exclusively. First few days suck, but my VO2max that got shattered from high 56 to meager 26 is climbing back up and just surpassed 43. I also discovered that when running on a treadmill, 5% consistent incline retains the gains for me

3/ In last 9 months I have lost all the weight I have put on and am finally below 200lbs. Most importantly without significant muscle loss

2/ After my autoimmune symptoms vanished, the last thing I couldn’t shed was my weight. I run daily for over 10 years, eat mostly the same, lift weights daily. Once I got sick I quickly put on 70lbs but couldn’t take it off. And then, one morning, it started moving down.
10 years of daily running as of today!. I have never expected to take it this far. And if I am honest, I am ready to be done. But decided to do it for a bit longer until my 40th birthday this Summer. That way I would've run every single day of my 30s. 14,560 miles in 3,653 days.
