These can apparently only be used alongside an actual passport and only for "official" trips but I want this so bad. Yeah bro I'm a citizen. Of the UN.

I want to work for the UN or an agency of it, if only to keep this with me forever.

Tweet got viral somehow. I have nothing to add except that if you care about the Internet and also free information you should raise awareness about the US bill known as the Kids Online Safety Act (and similar leg. passed in the UK/AUS/etc) https://t.co/wAq4c5dc8H

Lawmakers who support KOSA today are choosing to trust the current administration, and future administrations, to define what youth—and to some degree, all of us—should be allowed to read online.

Malaysia has entrenched "Malay Supremacy" in its constitution. They engage in racist AA initiatives against Chinese and Indians. A large portion of Malays vote for and supports Malay ethnonationalist and Islamic groups. Whatever Japan or Korea have is nothing compared to Malaysia

(The context here is that this is a Malaysian-Japanese idol group and it got exposed for having most of it's Malaysian members being racist towards the Japanese members behind their backs in a GC)

It is fascinating just how racist Malays are. I don't think there is a single group of (South-)East Asians that are more racist than they are.

They sued in 2020 in Stockholm, with the courts ruling that the SIF's control of .nu was legal. This was appealed, but the appeal court handed down the same ruling.

They claim they missed out on 150 million dollars worth of revenue that went to IUSN (the previous administration before SIF) and SIF, and went as far as to call it "neo-colonialism"

Such was its use that the Swedish Internet Foundation became the controller of the domain in 2013, prompting *strong* opposition from Niue

This meant that .nu became a big deal in Sweden in particular. It was widely used there in place of .se and of .com, 66% of registrations of .nu came from Sweden

Niue is one of those many countries* in the Pacific that had a quirky enough name for it to have a special domain. Tuvalu had .tv, Niue had .nu, and "nu" means "now" in the Scandinavian languages

As I've tweeted about before, the Internet used to be much more Scandinavian in 2005 than in 2025. This allowed the Swedes back then to steal an entire country's domain and use it for themselves. (A short thread)

(With no insult to my millennial oomfs of which I have plenty even though I'm a weird zoomer/gen alpha,) millennials never really grew up. The only generation worse than them are Gen X and at least Xers can say they have brain damage

The oldest zoomers are 2 years away from hitting their 30s; how will this generation react to aging? I hope better than millennials

literature education as ESL classes in a country where ~no one speaks English

I read an article about this weeks ago but it seems particularly stupid. In Iraq, for our *ESL* classes you are given literature extracts. And sometimes teachers will make you read books and give reports on them. It is not a good idea for literature classes to have the same

....do high schools in the West REALLY no longer give out books to read and only extracts of texts?
