@Mick_O_Keeffe
Full mobilization! Like a military operation, you don’t see efforts like this from the Government for most problems in Ireland yet this issue gets all the support and funding
@JohnJCarvill
John but the big issue is this! FF, FG and the greens have created a Monopoly especially now with their rotating Taoiseach idea. As a result Ireland does not have a strong opposition, we do not have a good alternative and I honestly don’t see who should replace them
@irishexaminer
People are ANGRY! Nobody is listening and those who do claim anyone who doesn’t like what’s happening much be racist or “far-right” 80% of the country can’t be far right. When will the government sit up and listen to its people and stop ignoring and gaslighting them.
@Independent_ie
He should just fly back into Dublin, throw away his passport and claim asylum. He will get free accommodation, food and a weekly allowance
@drcross
@RTE_PrimeTime
@SarahAMcInerney
@rtenews
Man cop on you can clearly see the issue. Obviously if you are from say Cork but can only afford a house in Derry. Obviously that’s not a great situation, how can you not see that
@RealMessageEire
Holy shit is this for real, if they are worried enough to do this then they shouldn’t be allowed there at all. Who’s escorting the girls who walk past at 2am after an innocent night out or for the early shift in work at 5am.
@antoabs
You like to pick the stories you parrot I’ve noticed. Any comment on the pools of blood outside the Irish times building? Or the young child slashed in the city walking past tents?
@Brian_OBoyle1
I actually thought this was a joke post. “Standing in his garden” what a statement. You make it sound like he was enjoying an iced tea chilling in the sun. He lunged at the guard with a large knife after attacking others. the AGS ROE would have justified this and rightly so.
You gotta love them Lithuanians...
They officially renamed the street of the Russian Embassy in Vilnius "Ukrainian Heroes Street". There's no other way to send airmail there than writing that address, now! 🤣🤣🤣
Rock'n'rollest idea of the year!
@keira_con
Serious question! How do WE the people solve this. We have judges in ivory towers in South County Dublin making crazy decisions and a Justice Minister more worried about hate speech than the tented village the size of electric picnic being created in Dublin???
@BB_Baskin
We all know what happens next! One of the young lads will pull out a massive blade, attacker Gardai. Armed response unit arrive and deal with issue and then Dublin is full of liberal protests claiming it was a targeted hate crime
@joeliveline
any chance we can address the elephant in the room in regards to Irish society. Why can't we get real with policing and punishments for these groups! If this continues to go unchecked we are doomed as a city

Totally agree! Gardai should totally stop any protesting outside politicians homes. Also they should stop protests outside Leinster house, any protests in a public space, any speech with contradicts the Government and also comments online which show consternation…
@SenatorMcDowell
@IrishTimes
How is it the a former ATTORNEY GENERAL and minister for justice is speaking out about these issues and NOBODY in Government is listening. It’s like we live in a world of make believe. Bring back the PDs please
@IrishTimes
@irishtimes
there is 70 comments here all against illegal immigration and venting their anger. Yet you seem to ignore this, call them right wing and then only give the voice of someone warning €200k from an NGO and you wonder why people are getting angry
@JohnJCarvill
@cathmartingreen
Also also as a tax paying citizen I feel like there is something wrong about a paid and elected representative “blocking” you.
@FarmsGwendolyn
@KremlinTrolls
@SkyNews
What are you not sure about? That in the military is the definition of “effective enemy fire” they were 100% the targets of that ambush. They were not caught in cross fire that is for sure
@NewstalkFM
But you are classed as right wing for saying this. Tax paying Irish citizens get gaslighted for having an understandable view in a supposedly democratic country.
#Newtownmountkennedy
@gardainfo
own policy on the use of incapacitating spray aka pepper spray! Me and other bystander and journalists got spayed! I never heard a verbal warning prior‼️ people who were cleary not a treat where targeted and it caused massive panic in the crowd.
@SenatorMcDowell
@IrishTimes
@ElecCommIRL
is anyone going to step in to sanction the Government for their clearly biased and untrue messaging around this referendum. Have you been asked to stay silent? We have a former AG and Minister of Justice ringing the alarm bells and nothing from you?
@ThoughtsToby
Lads I say it again and again, if they are trying to move you on or claim to be security. Ask for their PSA licence number and ID. If they don’t have one on them they MUST leave the site and it’s a finable criminal offence. Also they must remove face coverings when Identifying
@JohnJCarvill
Yes and then we have the biggest (likely very unstable) rainbow coalition of Indepenece, micro parties etc. I don’t know if that’s any better. Ireland is suffering from the lack of any real opposition resulting in a completely unaccountable government.

She probably thought she was been so smart and calculated. She prob consulted legal and was like “this 90 year old women won’t do anything don’t worry” I bet she never thought it would blow up in her face like this.
@Limerick_Leader
Nothing to see here people! Please go back to what you were doing…. 🐑 tell me crime is linked to the large arrival of unvetted illegal immigrants, without telling me crime is linked to the large arrival of unvetted illegal immigrants
@Independent_ie
We understand the murdering nature of HAMAS and how disgusting it is and the lack of condemnation from the Palestinians for Hamas actions over the past few years
@irishexaminer
Well it’s obvious it does not reflect view of most of Ireland. Despite a few loud voices in the extreme left or virtue signaling politicians. Why else do you think Isreal got 10 pts from Ireland in Eurovision. The narrative would have you believe we all hated them but obv not
@RobCarryBray
I was present and in disbelief. They never gave a verbal warning to leave or that they would be clearing the area. They charged the crowd and immediately started pepper spraying and battening people. Many by standers got sprayed with no chance of leaving
@Daily_Millenia
First of all, this lad is an asylum seeker from Morocco 🇲🇦? Since when is there a war there? People go on holidays there on a daily basis. Secondly what a lie, €1200
@realBobbyHealy
Compare his salary to those paid to top presenters in Finland, Denmark and Slovakia. (which all roughly have the same population as us but an actually higher cost of living) and he is well over paid. Please ensure to do a like for like comparison

Sure with that logic why not just let all criminals in since we have criminals. Nobody is saying we don’t have people like that. But we don’t need MORE. Also you would hope someone new to the country might be a bit more respectful especially since we are “helping” them
@ST__Ireland
@JohnMooneyIRL
How Clare Daly & Mick Wallace are not being investigated I don’t know! Their comments and stances on issues especially around the Russian invasion as well as some of their previous company should raise some serious questions.
I was present at the protests at Newtownmountkenndy to take photos for a news outlet. I wasn’t involved with the protesters and was keeping my distance to take photos. Despite this fact I still got cornered, pepper sprayed and hit several times with a baton.
@NewstalkFM
And I guess the far left still have the view “open boarders” “let them all in” what do we do when it’s 100,000 which isn’t far away. The state literally cannot house these people nor can we afford it. Are we having open boarder to just increase the homeless population.
@consheehan89

@PhilipDwyer_MOI
This is crazy! And people say you have to be worried about the far right. Literally people’s right to protest is been removed by heavy handed Gardai who will pepper spray you and baton you for protesting and you all have the pleasure of paying for this through taxation
@IrishTimes
The
#irish
government are hiding behind the vail of
#neutrality
because it’s cheap and for no other reason. The Irish people want Ireland to take a stronger more vocal stance on this issue and support our European brothers in any way possible even if it is sending AT-4 missiles
I’m starting to think this current Government honestly can’t get anything right. From Defence, Housing, Policing and now not even a fairly well established process such as recycling
@GCraughwell
@SenatorMcDowell
€20+ million is nothing compared to this disaster that is the asylum process. €2+Bn on private accommodation, €7+million on private transportation to and from sites, €5+ million on private security per annum, gardai over time, feeding costs plus allowances!!!
@amandar97361541
I thought only the far right commit arson attacks and there was 0 evidence of illegal immigrantion leading to crime Also, FREE legal aid, FREE housing, Weekly welfare payments! All while we are taxed through our eyes! Yeah this seems like a win for Ireland. More like him please
@GCraughwell
@NWCI
As tax payers we should have a say where our monies go. Especially if it’s to NGOs. If I wanted to donate to a specific charity or NGO I would. The state shouldn’t decide this, especially when you look a semi state bodies also donating. They are ALSO just using tax payers money
@antoabs
@SimonHarrisTD
@HMcEntee
Then out of nowhere I had 4 long shields boxing me in with no avenue of escape, then I was sprayed continuously in the face as he shouted “move” I informed him I had nowhere I could go since they had cornered me and then I was hit several times with batons
I can’t wait until this Hob Goblin of a man is out of Office. This man does not represent me and should keep his virtue signaling to himself.
@PresidentIRL
@DaithiM72
Without being alarmist but this is very worrying I’m fairly pro gardai but this seems like woke nazi Germany literally the state has put barriers on a lane to stop protesters gathering,
As a proud Irishman I’d love to say this man is wrong. But sadly he is not, the Irish government do not take this topic seriously and class defence as a cost saving measure. No air defence capabilities, no primary radar and and air corp unable to stop air incursions
"The right thing to do would be to properly recompense 🇬🇧 for its protection. But there is little chance of that – countries that define themselves as “anti-colonial” never want to lower themselves by appearing dependent on their former imperial masters"
It looks like martial law. I saw people trying to go into this very estate and those same gardai pepper sprayed them telling them to “leave the area” despite their pleas that they lived there. I met a family with young child in disbelief
The gardai are now patrolling housing estates in Newtownmountkennedy dressed in full riot gear, intimidating locals and waking up children.
Ireland is descending into authoritarianism before our eyes.
@LionChief101
“Media black out” can be common place. A lot of Irish people don’t know this or think it’s a myth. The state can demand the media don’t report on a specific situation for “security” reasons. I’ve heard of a few situations but normally get reported on later with very few details

They will indeed and it’s scary to think how out of touch you must be. Look at all the polls, comments online and constant talk in towns and villages around this issue and most of the political elite want to ignore. This will be like the recent referendum and you’ll be destroyed
@LionChief101
Reminder if security is present ask for their ID. A report came out today showing that the state had illegally hired thousands of unvetted and unlicensed security guards for these sites. It’s a criminal offence not to have a psa id
@designmibeau
Image when the hate speak bill comes in.Rather then a call asking you to come in, you’ll receive a summons at the door and be forced to court to explain yourself!

There has been a ban on the public ownership of handguns in Ireland since the early 1970s. Only members of the police and Defence Forces are entitled to have handguns. No handgun of any kind can be legally kept on private property or in private ownership
@barrycrushell
Deputy Murphy made a show of the Sec Gen. you could see the Sec Gen was raging and so out of her depth. I love how she calls certain things “military decision” to distance herself from the failings such as pulling out of UNDOF.
Madness! Sets up a commission to prevent misinformation.
Said commission points out her comment is wrong.
She goes on to ignore their advice because she feels you can interpret it to mean the way that she wants!!!
Media Minister Catherine Martin is asked if she will delete a tweet in which she falsely claimed that the Constitution says "a woman's place is in the home" - a claim which was explicitly contradicted by her government's own Electoral Commission.

Well said, it’s easy for like of Paddy C is his ivory tower laugh at stuff like this and people from Ballsbridge or the Wicklow st area. They can’t see or don’t want to see what’s happening to Dublin and the increased levels of crime, filt and drug usage
Sydney built the Sydney North West metro which opened in 2019. It cost them €4.5B (€1B under budget!) it’s a total length of 36km. That’s a cost of €125million per Km. Dublin metro North will cost close to €500million per km. Value for money?

Nothing to see here, everything is normal please just move along … like how is this normal, and why aren’t there more Irish people speaking out.
@fellawrites
The Government are so out of touch it’s scary. I feel soon they will “suspend” democracy for some made up reason. And you can be sure they see these types of posts either through our friends in the media, AGS or Military Intelligence. (👋 Hi lads btw)

€2 Billion on housing for Illegal Immigrants
€500million over spend on National children’s hospital
€800k shipping pets to Ireland
€500k golden handshakes at RTE
Plus much more….
All while we still have €214Bn national debt still
@GCraughwell

Gerard with all respect! What do you mean “those”? You know exactly who. You, cathal and Tom pass them ever day in the halls. Why not call them out. ESPECIALLY the Sec Gen of DoD and her staff for years of neglect
@PeterPaulGuy
How much is all this costing???? Apparently 7 million on private transport, 2 billion on private hotels, how much for food, security, garda overtime etc etc. this must be close to 5 billion
