We have had 15 years of Fine Gael promises, plans and photo ops and the housing crisis has become a disaster. Rents and house prices have doubled, and homelessness has risen by 400%. Why would anyone believe this latest plan will be any better?

Around the world, countries are lowering the voting age and trusting young people with a voice in democracy. The evidence is clear that when 16 and 17 year olds can vote, turnout rises and civic participation grows. Ireland should not be left behind. It is time to act.

Young people deserve a voice in our democracy. Lowering the voting age to 16 would recognise their maturity, insight and engagement. While other countries are moving forward, this Government has stalled. It is time to trust young people and let them be heard.

The debate on the @SocDems' Bill calling for a legislative pathway towards reducing the voting age from 18 to 16 has just started. @Aidan_Farrelly_ says this is an important piece of legislation designed to give young people a voice in our democratic process.

The govt's housing plan is full of spin – and devoid of any new ideas that would help solve the housing crisis. This plan will lead to more of the same - higher rents, higher house prices, and more homelessness. This is an emergency – we need the govt to treat it like one.

Climate Change Advisory Council has warned that Ireland is far too reliant on fossil fuels. Govt is sleepwalking towards climate change failure - and putting the country at risk of billions in EU fines if we miss our 2030 targets. @WhitmoreJen

The removal of annual targets from the government’s housing plan shows they have no confidence in it. No new ideas, no ambition. Instead of forecasting an annual number of homes, they are forecasting failure. @RoryHearneGaffs

The crisis in primary care services for young people is at boiling point. That the HSE is lauding the shortening of one waiting list from 13 to ten years is appalling. Where is the drive in govt to address these delays?

Tomorrow, the @SocDems are bringing forward legislation to lower the voting age to 16. 16 and 17 year olds can work full time and pay income tax – so why shouldn't they decide how their tax is spent? Contact your local TD to ask them to support this motion tomorrow.

Extreme weather events hit hardest in areas where inequality already exists. Disabled people often face additional risks when violent storms hit. Unacceptable that govt failed to engage with disability groups during review of Storm Éowyn. @WhitmoreJen

The govt failed to build the 40,000 homes it promised during last year's election. We’ve now been waiting nearly a year for them to publish their housing plan. It's astonishing it’s taken them this long to cobble something together.

A proposed €1 million payout for the DAA chief executive after just three years is deeply concerning. It far exceeds normal public-sector terms and raises serious governance questions. The Minister must explain how this was allowed. The public deserves transparency.

President Connolly ran a hugely positive campaign with a clear vision for her presidency. We can't wait to see the incredible work she will do during her term.

Govt has agreed to supports for a group who partook in a hunger strike for 51 days, but the State must never put abuse survivors through such an ordeal again. Questions must be asked about why it took 51 days for survivors to be heard. @JenCumminsTD
