Tipperary Roads Policing Unit Motorcyclist monitoring the M8 detected a vehicle travelling 170km/h outside Cahir. The driver failed a roadside drug test for Cocaine & Cannabis & was arrested on suspicion of Drug Driving & Dangerous Driving. Court to follow. #SaferRoads

Kevin Street Gardaí stopped this vehicle for doing a dangerous manoeuvre. The driver was a learner driver with no L Plates, no NCT, no tax, driving unaccompanied and wasn't on the insurance policy. Vehicle seized and a fine was issued. #SaferRoads

Roscommon Roads Policing unit conducting speed checkpoint in Ballyleague, detected this van travelling a 84km/h in 50 km/h zone. When stopped it transpired driver had let Insurance lapse. Vehicle seized. #SaferRoads

Gardaí attached to Balbriggan conducted a number of high visibility checkpoints in rural country roads. Four vehicles were seized, two of which had no insurance. They will now face court. A number of other detections were made such as drivers using mobile phones. #SaferRoads
