Repeat after me, Chicago reporters: Illinois has no DMV. Cook County has no district attorney. Community Areas are not neighborhoods. Chicago has no police precincts. IT IS MADISON STREET, NOT MADISON AVENUE.

A diagnostic test for Long Covid will unlock the next stage in research, profiling, phenotype identification, and quantifying results of treatment trials. This research brings us one big step closer. Congrats to all involved!
So pleased to report that our Mount Sinai-Yale long COVID (MY-LC) paper with @putrinolab & others is now published!! Proud of the hard work of all who contributed. We found biological signatures that can distinguish people with vs. without #longCOVID (1/)

Did you know me before March ā23? If so, can you imagine me reclining, still, most every day for 6 mos? Please, on behalf of future-you, today-me begs you not to be past-me, thinking Covid is just a cold. It is for some, but maybe not for you next time.

āIt is ironic that individuals with a severely energy-limiting disease are using their limited energy to protest and request help, even though such exertion can worsen our symptomsā #longcovid

The mobilization against COVID-19 was impressive. A similar investment is needed to understand and treat the chronic resulting illness.

HB 3375 would create a narrow exception to the Post-Conviction Hearing Act. The bill would eliminate the ācauseā requirement for people sentenced before they turned 21 who want to file new petitions citing youth. Passed through the Illinois House. #Twill

For people watching the Trump arraignment, please know that it wasnāt normal. @roywoodjr said it on @TheDailyShow (well worth watching, BTW); check out real world examples here, from the brilliant team @MarshallProj.
Constitutionally, people arraigned for felonies are entitled to equal treatment ā but practically, we all know that's not true. So, we asked several people to share their experiences ā¬ļø

I have come to respect the fact that police experience things daily that I do not: extreme suffering, violence & fear; trauma on the reg. I donāt think Iāll ever come to respect a leader who trivializes their struggle by blaming a political figure or boss.
The head of the Chicago police union says a majority of the members "does not want to work for Brandon Johnson as mayor," and he's predicting as many as 1,000 officers could leave. https://t.co/qsfv7gVwWv
