As a Jewish woman, I’m equally disturbed by reports that suggest electing Daniel Biss or Kat Abughazaleh would somehow endanger Jewish lives. That claim is disgusting, dangerous, and completely false. This kind of rhetoric has no place in our party or in this race. 4/5

Now that the ballot is set, it’s up to the voters — not outside groups — to decide who is fit to serve. Bullying and threatening a candidate to withdraw from a race is about as undemocratic as it gets. 3/5

As Democrats, we should be encouraging people to run for office, not pushing them out. Our petition parties were open to any democrat trying to get on the ballot, and most of the 9th District candidates collected signatures at my ward events. 2/5

Here’s the thing. Republicans control the House and the Senate. If they pass this dirty bill, they own the health care crisis. If it fails, they own the shutdown. That’s what you get when you go at it alone. Whatever outcome—Republicans will only have themselves to blame.
