Imagine using a challenge for upside of a single yard and thereby also risking a timeout…or being fans aggressively cheering for your coach who risked a timeout and used a challenge to gain a maximum of 1 yard…. I’m confused.

The Jaguars paid Darnell Savage $2.3125M for 2 games. If they cut him two weeks prior, it would likely be only $1.08M (if signed). His cost to JAX for the next 14 games was only $437.5K max. He will now be a FA and collect his full $2.25M salary PLUS anything else over season.

Does anyone actually believe that it had to be a choice amongst these 3? Strategy, including timing and structure of deals, differentiates the better teams from the rest. The only reason there’s even a case they couldn’t keep all 3 is because they waited so long. ..again.
After trading Micah Parsons, Dallas has now used the money to lock in Daron Bland and Tyler Smith, two huge parts of their future.

If a football team announced before a game that they wouldn't run any play action or throw to the TE...their fans would be upset. Why would a team announce that they won't trade a certain player? How do they know what they'll be offered? What is the upside to such a statement?
