I was there. Agree with everything @GenoSmith3 said. In fact this guys in the NFL and he’s out here coaching and making kids better at the game he loves. Internet trolls can’t see that. But we do @overtime 🙏.
Having fun with the game I love but man, the need for clicks and negativity takes away from the great event that happened this past weekend. All the kids had fun and competed. All around great event. This is how we talk in Dade county I’m sorry u might not understand. Carry on!.

I am planning on time traveling back to the 1980’s and writing a sci-fi book about a magical portal that will make college athletes $$$$ if they jump through it. But like every book it needs some element of risk. What’s the risk / sacrifice / deal to go to the magic portal?

The NBA 21 year olds are better. But there are lots of jobs for the college 21 year olds. Yes there will always be Cooper Flags and Ace Baileys. But modern college basketball is a new additional, parallel pro league. Watch March madness this year and you’ll see.

Players can play 4 years in college and make millions. Without ever going to the NBA. As compared to what they might make elsewhere. College basketball can be the payoff for players. If you’re 21.You can play in the NBA.Or you can play in college .Both are basketball careers.

What college basketball looks for is no longer great freshman. Or one and done. College needs and is stacked with players in their 20’s. College basketball isn’t a funnel for the NBA. It’s an entirely parallel platform. With NIL college the ultimate goal. Think about this.

On this years Auburn top ranked team the average age is 23. But that’s not the only change. Traditionally college basketball is seen as a feeder or a funnel. The best players would go there and then go pro. H.S.—> College —> NBA. But college isn’t a funnel anymore.

Why take an 18 year old when you can take a 22 year old graduate w/ a year of eligibility who’s more skilled, bigger and knows how to show up on time and be coached. In last years NCAA tournament there were only TWO freshman starters in the entire elite 8 (5% of starters).

It started with the transfer portal going from a year wait to immediate transfer and then the Covid year. College coaches found out rather than recruit players out of high school they could accept transfers of older students asap.

If you start a business and someone copies you fully. Hires your former employees, copies your launch video, names all their "office" rooms the EXACT same names, copies marketing to the smallest details, is there a line between imitation as flattery and getting annoyed? 🙃.
