MY MOM HAS BEEN FOUND!
She’s safe and in the hospital. Soon she will be surrounded by family and will probably wonder why we are all making a fuss.
Please accept me and my families sincerest gratitude for all your kindness and concern for our mom.
Jessi, you're the best❤️

Don’t touch me!
Mom, he touched me!
Tommy, don’t touch your sister.
I didn’t touch her, she touched me first!
Everyone, stop touching each other!
Mom, he did it again!
Stop fight! Don’t make me stop this car!
SMH, those were the good times.

You know that if you get rid of your 1950s button or thread Christmas tins you will be haunted by the Ghost of If Only I Had The Correct Button or Thread, right?

A car salesman once kept trying to negotiate with my husband instead of me. My husband looked at him and said, I'm not the one with the money. You have to talk to her. * points at me. The salesman wouldn't so we walked out.

I am that woman. I take my 6'2" husband shopping and loan him out to women who can't reach things on the top shelves. I'm 5'2", so I get it.

The day I officially hit menopause I took my emergency box of tampons out to the back patio, soaked it in lighter fluid, and set it on fire.

Me to my mom: you're going out to dinner with Jim again?
Mom: yes. We were going to stay in but Jim said why bother cooking & cleaning.
Me: so you're dating.
Mom: no, we just enjoy each others company.
Me: mom, that's dating.
Mom: oh, I guess we are.

My grandfather rolled his own cigarettes. He taught me how to roll them for him using pencil shavings when I was around 7. This became a very popular skill in the mid70s.

I live 2200 miles from my 83 yo mom and 90 yr dementia stepdad. Everything has blown up with them. I can tell because my “everything’s fine. You don’t need to come up.” mom said, “it’s bad. I need you.” Schedule rearranged. Flight booked.

This is Murphy. He will race you to the door, mess up the rug so you can’t open the door, squeeze past you when you finally get the door open, and jump in the car to take me to work. Then whine when I get out of the car. Rinse and repeat.

There are ways to get away safely, not compromise others, and still enjoy some quality time with friends. Have a great time. I hope your friend with cancer comes through well.

I felt like I’d failed but it turned out that I’d didn’t fail I took back my self esteem & self worth. These are things he stripped from me. I’ve accomplished so much more than I would ever have if I’d stayed. Give yourself time to heal & then go kick some butt. You got this!

Got a call from my grad student at noon. She had locked herself in her closet bc her roommate’s BF was threatening them. 🔫 Picked her up, fed her, yelled at mgmt company, moved her out tonight.

My oldest son taught the 9th grade English, History, and Science classes when he was in 6th grade because the school didn’t know what to do with him. I refused to let my 12 year old graduate because they couldn’t keep up with him. I did added lesson for him.

I'm completely overwhelmed by my mom's situation, and I've realized that I need to move here to help her navigate life. I need to find a public service job (librarian or otherwise) in the Seattle area or work remotely.
Does anyone have any ideas or connections?

I do this same thing. I also hand them out to struggling senior citizens and show them how to do this. I know, it seems weird that I hang out in the produce section handing out wipes to seniors but I'm a vegetarian. I spend a lot of time in the produce section naturally.

This good boy spent two hours in the house by himself for the first time and didn’t make a mess. The plants were left alone. He didn’t chew up anything (such as walls).
Ticked off a major milestone today!
Way To Go Murphy!!!

Cardiologist: do you have a stressful job?
Me: Yes
Cardio: what do you do?
Me: I’m a librarian.
Cardio: HA! how is the stressful? You just sort of read all day.
Me: Sit down Honey. We’ve got a few things to talk about. Starting with all the research you needed to get your degree.

Turns out what I thought was a bunch of fake pearls are real. They are cultured freshwater pearls from the 1940s. I’ll restring them for a three strand necklace and whatever is left I’ll make earrings out of.
Just call me June. June Cleaver.

J is watching The Avengers (the tv series from the 60s). I asked him what the backstory was and his answer was something something British agent-ish. This didn’t satisfy my curiosity. I googled it. The answer, something something British agent-ish. 🤷♀️

Added 10 more pages to the dissertation. Now, it’s just a matter of tidying it up for submission. Feeling like I’m finally on the upside of this thing.

Got a text from our landlord asking if we planned to renew our lease. He informed us that he needed to raise the rent by $20 per month. In 5 years he’s only raised the rent $40 total. I’m still happy that our rent is affordable. Can’t say I wasn’t worried though.

I’ve been Nessa’s Mom since 2009. Nessa is no longer with us but I’m not ready to give up the name. Nessa had a huge place in my heart. So while I talk about Murphy ad nauseam, Nessa is never far from my heart.

My husband & I saw a huge sad apple tree in an elderly lady’s yard. We asked if we could pick her apples in exchange for taking care of her tree. We picked a truck full of apples & brought her back gallons of cider & trimmed her tree. We did this until she passed away.
