@JoyAlle60003323 The compensation recommended by the PHSO for waspi women had nothing to do with what the Toris did It was because of maladministration by the DWP in the early 2000s when Labour were in government @jon_trickett either doesn’t seem to know this, or does, and is hiding it to

@jon_trickett Jon, it seems you don’t understand why the PHSO recommended compensation for the #waspi women It had nothing to do with the acceleration you mention (from the 2011 pension act) that you gladly point the figure to the Conservatives for And everything to do with

“Fair and proportionate” Chancellor Rachel Reeves says the student loans system is “reasonable”, in response to Martin Lewis’ claims on #Newsnight that freezing the threshold at which graduates repay their student loans was not “a moral thing” for her to do.

Private sector workers pay tax for public sector pensions, they also pay for their own pensions.

@TheScholar44 @john4brexit Private sector pensions used to be very generous and some are still very good but surely the aspiration should be to ensure that all workers have good workplace pensions. If not there will be many relying on benefits like pension credit and housing benefit in their old age.

Well intentioned but poorly thought through. This will be the subtitle of the Renter’s Rights Act. We pushed the government to think about the unintended consequences of the bill (although I confess I didn’t spot this one) but they mainly refused and rammed it through.

New report: a serious unintended consequence of the Government’s tenancy reforms. Hundreds of thousands of ordinary tenants will be dragged into an annual stamp duty calculation and filing regime.

Looks like Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg is finally listening. At last, he’s calling out Reform UK on their nonsense. You can’t posture as “anti-establishment” while behaving exactly like the establishment. They accuse Labour of denying people their right to vote over cancelled local

Reform's defector circus isn't about principle. It's about ego, failure and career desperation dressed up as conviction. Let's be clear about what's actually happening here. Robert Jenrick lost the Tory leadership race. 43.5% to @KemiBadenoch's 56.5%. Not close. Suella

And how can it be a ‘punch in the stomach’ when today’s decision is just a repeat of the previous decision, which is itself a repeat of the same decision made by the previous Tory and Coaliton governments, over a period of 10 years now The @WASPI_Campaign leadership have a lot

In 2010, you needed to earn £37,400 to pay the higher tax rate  16 years later & it’s just £300 more, but inflation has been 58% in that time  The threshold should be £59,000, not £37,700 Now 4 million more people pay 40% tax who should be in a lower tax bracket  This is why

@NadiaWhittomeMP @WASPI_Campaign I’m a WASPI woman and whilst disappointed, I know full well the govt doesn’t have a bottomless pit and I’d rather they continued doing a fantastic job of turning this country round and spend that money on improving the lives and prospects of my children and grandchildren.

🔥 If you missed Kemi’s keynote yesterday, you NEED to watch this clip. 🔥 Asked about Matt Goodwin pushing the idea that Black and Asian people born in Britain “aren’t British,” Kemi’s response was absolutely on point: 👉 “That’s Farage’s problem — not ours.” 👉 Identity

So Reform appear to be threatening legal action against the @Conservatives over the retracted Braverman statement. You know, the one that was publicly acknowledged as wrong, retracted within the hour, and apologised for by @KemiBadenoch on GB News. I thought I'd do some

Labour don’t understand business. 2020 - to employ a 21 year old 40 full time would cost £17,035 2026 - to employ a 21 year old 40 full time would cost £29,600 A 74% increase. Meaning a cafe needs £400k extra turnover just to fund ONE job!

Those MPs defecting to Reform are a mixture of careerists and oddballs who simply don't fit into Kemi's renewed Conservative Party. The Conservatives are the true voice of the right - Reform's hotchpotch of nationalist and socialist policies isn't what the country needs.

Wonder how many people applied to be considered by Reform for the Gorton and Denton by election costing £125 a pop? It's clear to anyone that Matthew Goodwin was always going to be Reform's candidate. The application process was a scam to generate more Farage money. #ReformCon

Part of Badenoch’s speech, she smashed it. “So let me be clear. The Conservative Party is going in a new direction. I was not elected to reheat the party with 1990s policies. I was not elected to dismantle the party so that Nigel Farage can finally have a go. I was elected
