This is nonsense. “Communities” aren’t equal before the law. Individuals are. Muslims like Christians aren’t a race. Religious discrimination is already illegal. What legal religious privileges do Jews and Sikhs have and others lack? She’s demanding an Ottoman millet system.
Everyone in our country should be equal before the law. Jews and Sikhs have protection and privileges both as a religious community and a racial community and so must Muslims, Christians and others.

The Chancellor’s sister, Labour Solicitor General Ellie Reeves, is doing her best to protect her boss, Lord Richard Hermer - who’s in the House of Lords. There’s a lot to hide - claiming she ‘can’t speak for the Attorney General’ is bizarre, because she’s there to do just that.
I've seen some appalling Ministerial performances at the despatch box. But Ellie Reeves attempt to respond to Robert Jenrick's UQ on China is probably the worst I've ever seen. It's so bad it's bordering on contempt for the House.

The idea that parents should consider feeding their children as leaving them “out of pocket” is tantamount to encouraging dereliction of care. Feeding and caring for your children is absolutely what parents should prioritise, I didn’t know that was a controversial take with this
Parents shouldn’t be out of pocket by setting their children up for school. That’s why we are rolling out free breakfast clubs and from next September, schools will be required to limit branded items of uniform. Saving families £500 and giving kids the best start in life.
