30 years as an OB nurse and I always knew because the conversation started the same “ I don’t believe in abortion but” and then proceed as to why they or their daughter were the lone exception.

I’m an OB nurse of many years. I’ve seen this story or similar too many time. It’s traumatic for us care givers as well, we’re only human and it’s impossible not to cry with grieving parents.

I worked as an OB nurse for 30 years and spoke to hundreds of women contemplating abortion.
The number 1 and 2 reasons for this choice were age ~ teenagers (objectively not ready to be a parent) and financial (couldn’t afford a baby, or more often another baby.
