@Luscombepilot Science doesn't typically operate by predictions unless it's a hypothesis. In literature, you'll see projections based on emission pathways and other factors. Naturally, as methods improve, projections change. The best methods are the ones we use right now. Better methods later.

As the climate warms due to anthropogenic warming, conditions in Australia become more favorable for intense fires. Yelling "it's arson!" doesn't change that.

@curryja The folks who study the West Antarctic ice sheet (the people I work with) are not concerned about air temperatures above WAIS, in regards to future melt. And WAIS was no stranger to rapid thinning / retreat during the mid-to-late Holocene. I recommend you educate yourself.

In case it wasn't clear to everyone, the last deglaciation (the transition from the last glacial period to the modern interglacial) ended way back when humans were first figuring out agriculture. Modern glacier retreat is from anthropogenic warming.

In case it wasn't clear to everyone, sea level doesn't rise through the entirety of an interglacial period. Sea level rise is typically contained within times of deglaciation. Deglaciation from the last glacial period ended a long time ago.

1/ Many climate "skeptics" LOVE to cite this graph below for showing that CO2 isn't even correlated with the Earth's temperature. And just by simply looking at the graph (like most "skeptics" do) it would seem like the graph does the trick. CO2 and temperature are not correlated.
