I was a freshman in Jean Valentine's 1st poetry class at Swarthmore in 1970. She assigned Grace Paley's great first collection "Little Disturbances of Man." Changed my life. Many years later got to see Grace Paley at Loyola in Chicago where she signed "Later the Same Day" for me.

They didn't convict Al Capone for all of the crimes he committed--just for income tax evasion. Convict Donald Trump, now a private citizen, for a present crime--witness tampering. Maximum punishment--20 years imprisonment. His being a former President? Irrelevant.
3 poems in the new Mojave River Review. 208 pages of amazing work! Congratulations to all in the issue and to Michael Dwayne Smith for putting it all together so beautifully!
My father died from mesothelioma caused by the inhalation of asbestos 40 years ago. Not an easy death. Believe me, neither you nor your family wants to go through that.
From somebody that is suffering from asbestosis, this hurts more. I come from a town that had the largest asbestos mine in the world. In my lifetime, we were lied to by our govt. that it was safe. Then after 40 yrs of people dying from unexplained illness, we found out. Now this?
If you are a poet between the ages of 60 and 69, please message me with your bio. I have a project in mind that involves previously-published poems of poets in this age range. Your interest in this project does not guarantee acceptance in the anthology I have in mind.
