Gonna be thinking about this lede for a minute.
NEW: I spoke to clergy and faith leaders who've joined protests at the Chicago-area ICE facility. Three say they've been shot w/pepper balls, sometimes while praying. All say ICE is also violating their religious freedom, and one is arguing it in court.

NEW and BREAKING: The big time Washington law firm Williams and Connolly has been hacked by the Chinese as part of a larger campaign aimed at American law firms, according to people briefed. https://t.co/Bjmcj05bt8

Williams & Connolly, one of the nation’s most prominent law firms, told clients that its computer systems had been infiltrated and that hackers may have gained access to some client emails.

A federal agent points a weapon at a woman who was recording them. Jess, a U.S. citizen and member of a neighborhood patrol team that documents and shares ICE activity across the city, was filming when the incident occurred earlier today in the Berwyn area.

Something notable about the phone records stuff: This isn't the first time lawmaker phone records have been obtained by DOJ. A IG report last year said the Trump DOJ obtained the phone records of two members (apparently Schiff and Swalwell) as part of its leak investigations.

Notice her non-answer. This is explosive. Should be explosive. The US AG who said she had the Epstein files on her desk cannot say whether or not the FBI has pix of Trump with half-naked women, which one witness who knew Epstein has said he has seen.
NOTABLE -- Pam Bondi refuses to answer direct questions about if the FBI has incriminating photos of Trump with half-naked young women, but instead deflects from them by attacking Sen. Whitehouse

Both prosecuted cases in North Carolina, but I can only find one such case associated with Diaz.

The irony that DOJ is doing this as Pam Bondi herself lies to Congress in realtime shouldn't be lost anybody.
Two lawyers just entered an appearance for the government in James Comey's case. There's no evidence on the Pacer that either one prosecuted a case before in the Eastern District of Virginia.

Josh Hawley just claimed that the Biden Justice Department "tapped" his phones. The huge poster board blow-up of an FBI document on the easel next to him says that Jack Smith's team sought metadata to monitor comms between Trump and lawmakers on or around J6.

New on MSNBC: Trump's new acting U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan has recruited prosecutors from outside her office to take James Comey to trial, after being unable to find any federal prosecutors in her own office willing to pursue the charges, according to two people familiar

It actually seems sort of obvious that if you’re investigating a former president of the United States for trying to subvert an election, you’d probe some of contacts he and alleged co-conspirators had with people he was trying to enlist/pressure to overturn the results.
Why would the FBI need to look at the toll records of senators? See Footnote 132 in Smith’s final report: At around the same time as he issued his 6:01 p.m. Tweet, Mr. Trump tried to reach two U.S. Senators, and he also directed Co-Conspirator 1 to call Members of Congress…

The Supreme Court spiked two petitions of great interest to Donald Trump today. Ghislaine Maxwell's case was only one of them. In his first term, Trump tried to bury a massive money laundering case that implicated Erdogan. SCOTUS declined to kill it for him.

Toward the end of this video, Leavitt suggests the troops should be activated because some community members have complained about “civil disobedience.”
My full exchange with Karoline Leavitt on what officials in Portland, including the police chief, are saying about whether the National Guard is needed versus what President Trump is claiming.

On left: Sept 2: Judge Breyer opinion (in CA case) showing DoD's own instructions of actions that violate Posse Comitatus (eg "crowd control"). On right: Sept 26: DHS request to DoD for military forces in Chicago "in direct support of ... access control, and crowd control."

One consistent problem for Trump is that he committed a bunch of provable crimes and the people he wants to prosecute have not.
