90% of the "European food fixed me" or "European food made me loose 10lbs" posts is literally just people from car dependent suburbs enjoying walkable cities and not noticing.
The americans are all posting their Euro Summer Tiktoks and once again talking about how the food in Europe is so much better/fixes their IBS/allergies etc xbut I just realised that for all their raving about food quality they're never like "we need regulations at home".

We really should give Amtrak a chunk of FEMA money so they can run 30 car consist evacuation trains. Because this is embarrassing that people can only use highways.
Evacuation traffic suddenly shot up after #HurricaneMilton reaches Category 5. #Tampa #TampaBay #florida. @jpetramala

Its honestly sad that most Americans will never experience the fun of their home team winning a game and riding the train back home with fans (or to an afterparty). Instead they have to drunkenly navigate their way home in a car, alone, stuck in traffic.

WANNN WANNN my shithole city is improving!!!! But because I'm a culture war reactionary idiot, that's bad!!!!!!.
"Racist roads"; or the story of how Pete Buttigieg took a final wrecking ball to my hometown. Syracuse is divided into four quadrants by I-81 and I-690. Or at least it WAS. Under Biden, libtards began tearing down the I-81 viaduct in the city's south, opening the door to crime.

@Bbburner19 Even if those numbers were even remotely correct. You're forgetting:.-tire manufacturing and micro plastics.-parking and car infrastructure is insanely carbon intensive.-cars promote urban sprawl which makes everything more carbon intensive.-lithium mining and sunken resources.

Very Few things scream "I don't live in a real city" more than being impressed by a guy in a suit taking the bus.
Just saw a man wearing a whole suit. Nice watch, hair, shoes, looked sharp. I would guess heās an executive or a business owner. Except he was standing at a bus stop. I realized heās prob got a job interview. So I stopped and asked him if he wanted a ride. He said āNope, my.

>"Amtrak needs to fix its subpar services".>Cancels project that would make Amtrak's service not subpar. Wow, incredible, we just can't stop winning.
Today, @USDOT & @USDOTFRA announced weāre saving taxpayers over $60 MILLION. FRA & Amtrak are in agreement that underwriting the Texas Central Railway project is a waste of taxpayer funds & a distraction from Amtrakās core mission of improving its existing subpar services.

Reasons why its expensive:.- Amtrak currently doesn't have enough rolling stock to meet demand.- You are getting 3 course meals, free coffee, snacks and waters the entire trip.- Amtrak has to largely subsidize the long distance routes, sleepers are a bonus. cont. .
i looked at taking an Amtrak to a festival in pennsylvania in a few months. all the trips are like 28+ hours long which would be fine if i could take a sleeper roomette. however, itās nearly $900 each way. $1800 to sleep. insane.

I wish I was as easily impressed as Tesla fanboys. You can practically jingle keys in front of them and they'll go nuts. That thing is literally a Ford Transit with goofy ah lights on it and zero ground clearance.

Honestly if our politicians gave a shit Boeing would have been nationalized or broken up by now.
Boeing CEO David Calhoun is being raked over the coals by the Senate right now. He's making $32.8 million this year. Josh Hawley asks him "What is it you get paid to do exactly?". The CEO struggles to answer.

San Francisco Residents are so funny when they try to grasp for straws to fix housing. This whole section of the city is shitty 2ish story detached stucco housing. Literally build anything more dense here!!
The US Mint in SF takes up so much space and sits near a ton of transit. It currently produces collectible coins for coin nerds, and doesnāt actually produce coins for circulation. Maybe this isnāt the best use of space? Should be moved imo and replaced with mixed use housing.

I swear that the democrats have the worst PR team of all time, because the republicans would act like they where gods giving a small gift to the peasants if they ever did something similar.
BREAKING: The Biden administration is ending bank overdraft fees as we know them. Under a new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau rule, overdraft fees at large banks will be strictly regulated and capped as low as $3. Low-income Americans will save billions.

Of course, this begs the question of what the most "underratedly well run state" would be. Probably Michigan?.

Because we systematically killed off last mile Freight Rail delivery.
šš¼Why are we letting gigormous industrial sized shipping trucks drive in our downtown streets ?! These shipping containers have no place in our neighborhoods. š¤·š»āāļø This is Richmond and Spadina at lunchtime.

The reason why the Class 1 Railroads might electrify in the United States, is because Mexico is forcing them too. Of course only the stupidest/funniest way that this would happen might happen.
This is wild: Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador says that he will require freight rail in Mexico to have electrified passenger service:

Absolutely hilarious that this "negative" video has actually convinced me that the Gondola is a good idea and that California has some of the most insufferable victim-mentality NIMBYs of all time.
A billionaire in L.A. is trying to build an aerial gondola over one of the poorest neighborhoods in the city so he can develop the parking lots at Dodger Stadium into a retail entertainment complex. Not only will one our most historic parks get consumed by the project, but

What people from outside of NJ/tristate area don't understand, is that we shouldn't be building anything else in the meadowlands. The meadowlands is there for runoff and flood control, housing (and other buildings) should not be built there.
The fact that the area around MetLife stadium doesnāt look like Wembley park in London is a gigantic policy failure. Wembley is btw how you should do stadium developments

Out of all of the infrastructure projects in the world, the electrification of the Indian Railway system does not get enough praise. This is easily one of the most impressive undertakings in the 21st century and it was done in roughly 10ish years
Indiaās mainline railway network is almost entirely electrified, with over 90% of the ENTIRE NETWORK (!) electrified, of which 45% was done in the last five years. Hereās a bit of background: š§µ
