I just declared a peacetime emergency to ensure we’re providing every possible resource for those fighting the wildfires in Minnesota. As fires remain active up north, I’m grateful for the tireless work and coordinated response of those on the frontlines.

I visited Two Harbors and Brimson this morning to survey wildfire damage and thank the personnel leading response efforts - from local, federal, and @mndnr firefighters to emergency managers and volunteers. Glad to see some rain and a community that has each other’s back.

I’m headed up north to meet with the emergency responders working to contain the wildfires and ensure that impacted communities have every resource they need.

Minnesota’s flags flew at half-staff today in honor of peace officers who gave their lives to protect ours. Tonight, we gathered to ensure that these heroes are never forgotten.

Grateful to these airmen and the first responders from local fire departments and neighboring states working tirelessly to protect life and property.

I gathered my team of emergency management officials for a briefing on the state’s response to the wildfires up north. As fires continue, we’re working around the clock to ensure impacted areas have the personnel, assistance, and resources to get it under control.

I just authorized the Minnesota National Guard to help fight the Camp House wildfire in northern Minnesota. I’m grateful to all our first responders who are stepping into harm’s way to keep their neighbors safe.

Our graduation rates are higher than they’ve ever been. It’s because we made big investments in things like free school meals, teacher training, and technical education. We can’t let federal cuts roll back our progress.
