Roadway deaths are a national crisis. We're saving lives with a new rule that means new cars and light trucks will have automatic emergency braking systems. Once fully implemented it's estimated to save 360 lives and prevent 24,000 injuries each year.
BIG NEWS: The Concourse D expansion at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is propelling American travel to new heights, all while creating good-paying jobs in Atlanta.
We've just taken a big step towards making our roads safer. Starting in 2029, all new cars and light trucks will come equipped with automatic emergency braking, which means fewer crashes and injuries on our roads.
As part of our enforcement action for the 2022 holiday meltdown, Southwest is now required to compensate passengers when the airline significantly delays or cancels a flight due to an issue within their control.
ICYMI: Southwest Airlines must compensate passengers with $75 vouchers for controllable delays/cancellations of over 3 hours. This historic enforcement action ensures accountability for disruptions within the airline's control.
It should be easier to get ticket refunds from an airline.
Our new rule makes sure if you no longer want to take a flight that's been delayed 3+ hours or the itinerary change, you automatically get your money back. No chatbots or phone calls needed.
Happy Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! 🌸
Join us this month as we celebrate the lasting legacy of AA and NHPI individuals who have helped shape American transportation.
We penalized Southwest Airlines $140 million for violations of consumer protection law during the holiday chaos of 2022.
As a result, they're now required to give passengers a $75 voucher for controllable flight delays or cancellations in the future.
