Tip of the cap to @BradArnoldWX He called the quiet season for the US early. I worry though that his ego is undergoing rapid intensification ;)
11/30: Today is the last day of the 2025 hurricane season. The month of November has proven to be very quiet this year, with no named storms during the month. There weren't even any disturbances mentioned in the Tropical Weather Outlook the entire month. See

A massive snowstorm is bringing widespread impacts and creating hazardous post-holiday travel conditions across the Plains and Midwest. Our field correspondent, @jpetramala , is near Newton, IA, tracking the storm's effects.#IAwx

It barely took a skiff of snow and accidents popped up across #DesMoines ahead of a potentially dangerous travel weekend with over a foot of snow expected across the midwest. @brianemfinger and I will be covering this storm.

A winter weather system will bring major impacts--including difficult to impossible travel conditions--through Saturday night especially across central and northern areas of the state. Consider altering your travel plans especially during the highest impact times. #iawx

More/better Hurricane Melissa videos now that the furlough/gov shutdown is over and I can get the go ahead to post revised versions. What was originally posted three weeks ago were quick edits/crops exported in 720p which were good enough but not all that they could be. I will

Pretty big breaking weather news today, confirmed that Melissa produced the 2nd highest wind gust ever on Earth that was officially recorded. The 231 MPH in New Hampshire at Mt. Washington stood as # 1 for 74 years until recently. Reminder the 1999 Bridge Creek–Moore, OK F5

Wonderful piece of storytelling from @nytimes. I am still SO ANGRY about this tragedy. It was a floodplain with HISTORY. The incompetence of the leadership at this camp cannot be overstated. Unavoidable tragedies do happen.. This was not one of them.

Never-before-published videos, data from smart devices, a crash report and the first interview that Camp Mystic's owners have granted since the July 4 disaster offer the most detailed account yet.

There it is! 39° this morning at KTPA broke a 133 year old record low for the date. #Tampa was 56° at 11 pm last night due to a northwest wind off the relatively warm Gulf. The wind flipped to north at midnight and the temperature dropped like a rock. We will struggle to hit

My theory is that with boom/mostly bust winters recently, people in Southern Wisconsin, Chicago, ect, have lost snow driving skills. #lakeeffect

Good luck if you think you are flying somewhere for #Thanksgiving Experiencing a fun 1.5 hour delay on a tarmac just waiting for ATC clearance. I can’t imagine how much worse it will be in a week. #shutdown

I understand the banding of lake effect snow creates uncertainty…but 1-15” forecast range for Chicago is…something. 🤷♂️
