Some parts of crypto don’t build on “traditional” startup knowledge, eg token models, but many blockchain projects will benefit from it (commerce/payments/consumer products, etc). VC partnerships are strong b/c of ensemble learning.

This boils down to objectivity vs subjectivity in trusted data sets. Objective data brings a powerful Schelling point: truth. It’s also probably better to secure multiple datasets with one token. Subjective TCRs where voters are explicitly incentivized economically are a problem.
I'm worried about the "token curated registry" hype. I see a lot of mechanisms that just boil down to "token holders vote", but for well known reasons (eg. see ) there are deep flaws in that model. The specifics of your incentive mechanism matter!.

For a supply chain, you need a "proof of location" solution - cargo movement could be falsified. Provenance of artwork or a car needs an identity primitive and tie-in to the physical object. Blockchain is a step toward trustlessness but not a guarantee of it.
