1/ Real Yield ETH by
@sevenseas_c
and
@DefineLogicLabs
has become the top-performing ETH yield vault in just ~30 days. Since its launch on April 12, it has generated a 13% organic ETH APY, surpassing alternatives that achieved 11% and ~8% APY over the same period.
The SEC’s facts on ATOM are pretty poorly researched.
The SEC claims that ATOMs were sold in 2017. No one received an ATOM until April 2019 when the network voted to enable transfers.
The claim NewTendermint is a significant contributor to Cosmos. No contribution occurred.
@rphmeier
I think Cosmos social capital has about 12 months to do something unique and differentiated otherwise we get swallowed by Eth flavored variants of Cosmos originated ideas like roll apps and Eigenlayer.
I feel intense urgency. The hour is late.
The collapse of economic security on Luna poses dangers for the IBC network esp Osmosis pools
There is $66 million dollars of OSMO in the UST/OSMO pool that could be stolen over IBC by an attacker with voting power equal to 2/3rd of the staked LUNA
Never forget that the opportunity to rebuild the financial rails that underlie human civilization as open source, fault tolerant, provably fair, resilient system is the greatest privilege in the world
$ATOM has a uniquely clean regulatory surface area.
1. Essentially zero marketing for the fundraiser
2. Community launched the chain. Not the foundation.
3. Never signed any listing documents or worked with a market maker.
4. Chain and technology have continued inspite of…
🧵 on the Rainbow Bridge attack today.
TL;DR: attack was stopped automatically, no bridged funds lost, attacker lost some money, bridge architecture was designed to resist such attacks, additional measures to be taken to ensure the cost of an attack attempt is increased
Designing systems without a single point of failure is what I’m most proud of.
$ATOM tokenomics and utility will improve.
TPS will go up.
Dapps will proliferate.
This is the most risk minimized web3 stack
Here is what L2’s would look like if they scaled Ethereum.
Wallets show you your assets on all chains.
Bridges and swaps are built into wallets so users can seamlessly move between chains.
If eth people want to see that in action today, try Keplr on Cosmos
Price discovery for Sei, Celestia, Berachain is gonna happen on
@osmosiszone
while native USDC comes over from Noble.
Osmo is gonna be a main character in 2023 like it was in 2021.
Wild to me that anyone is short.

16/
@kava_platform
hardcoded $ust to $1. Users were able to mint $USDX (native stablecoin from the Kava chain) against UST at 99% LTV without risk of liquidation. After that $USDX was sold for other assets on Kava Swap.
Initial takes of the
@dfinity
codebase.
1. The code is very high quality. It’s well structured and documented.
2. It reassembles most blockchain codebases in Rust from 2019-2020 in conceptual structure. It’s a rewrite.
3. No real surprises. The DKG is the most novel thing.
The entire point of this phase of crypto is to see what works under extremely adversarial conditions.
What survives will be an infrastructure for settling trillions in value.
But there will be blood
If we keep getting smart contract exploits, architecture exploits, consensus exploits all the time, it makes you wonder whether we'll be able to provide enough security to settle trillions of $ worth of value long term. Very scary stuff, we need more people doing security
When IBC transfers are enabled on the
@cosmos
hub a new permissionless Defi revolution can be begin, there are entire classes of Defi applications that can’t be built on EVM like the Gravity and Osmosis DEX designs that can now be deployed and handle real value at near zero fees.
@sebascarrali
And Luna was basic Tendermint consensus, with TerranovaVM instead of the full EVM.
Way lighter, way simpler and still had plenty of hiccups.
In its current state the very best teams can maybe navigate custom builds ok, but, long way to go before polished.
This is a ton of nuance to the
@dYdX
announcement.
The places where L2 tech couldn’t meet DyDx needs is pretty specific to their use case.
Cosmos tech can be directly complimentary to Eth as in
@sommfinance
Anyone want to get to talk about this on a podcast or twitter space?
OMG it’s happening.
Osmosis V16 is here. Osmosis getting a fully modern set of DEX features. Concentrate Liquidity and programmable pools a la UniSwap V4
Up for discussion on the Cosmos Forum, ship the
@iqlusioninc
Liquid Staking Module to regulate the adoption of liquid staking for ATOM.
Gratitude to
@notionaldao
and
@stride_zone
for the ongoing collaboration on the code and
@interchain_io
for support.
Today I am excited to reveal our new version of
@sommfinance
Sommelier Pairings. We have added three new features which will not only make it more convenient, but give LP's more power over their liquidity positions
🧵 👇
Prop 82 is currently passing and I hope it does.
Thank you to all voters so far.
I don’t view ATOM 2.0 Prop 82 passing or being veto’d as the final word on anything.
It’s not the final word on the treasury size or the existence of councils or the design of the scheduler.
Many people on CT don't seem to understand L1s want high fees.
If you promote a L1 by emphasizing low fees are you are actually bragging about how little value its blockspace has and how little monetary premium the native asset accrues. Strange thing to brag about, isn't it?
Once DYDX gets over the finish line, it going to be valuable to write up how we supported a major integration without a single centralized entity to coordinate everything
I like that Osmosis V16 is under hyped and over delivered but it honestly looks to be giant leap from 2020 era dex protocol to the most advanced dex in production.
It’s basically a Uniswap v4 app chain in the core protocol
First double sign and slashing on the
@cosmoshub
in mainnet.
The Cosmos Pool validator proposed two different blocks at height 848186.
Their validator is now jailed permenantly and 5% of all delegated Atoms were slashed.
In any other ecosystem, the founding company losing 50% of staff would be devastating for the network. In
@cosmos
, it’s bullish for $ATOM because it removes a lot of selling pressure, a bunch of talent being reallocated to stronger organizations and no core dev impact
This is the most advanced chain built yet on the Cosmos SDK and it’s now available for any builder to look at.
Also fully Metamask compatible from day 1
1/ We’re excited to share the dYdX Chain (v4) Github repos! 🪞
dYdX Chain is our commitment to full decentralization & transparency. Once production ready, we encourage the community to use these repos to grow the dYdX ecosystem.
Find the repos here 🧵
Cosmos folks feel like they are missing out on meme coins.
Cosmos folks fail to appreciate that for a meme coin to really happen in Cosmos the key thing would be getting Levana, Osmosis, Astroport, UX , Skip API etc etc to all support a single meme coin around launch.
Right now…
1. 'BURNED' $LUNA DOESN'T GET BURNED
Previously if you swapped $UST for LUNA, it would burn $LUNA.
NOW, if a user creates $UST, some percentage of the LUNA is used to buy $BTC.
Obviously, this creates inflationary price pressure on $LUNA.
Excited to share that our team
@sommfinance
has successfully brought the complexity of accessing active management in DeFi down to a simple DEX swap with the creation of an entirely new asset class - strategy tokens
It's been a 4 years but all the outstanding audit issues in IBC are solved. IBC 1.0 is here!
Stargate-rc5 (expected final release candidate is out today)
Hub upgrade proposal over holidays for a January hub upgrade is expected.
Would remind cosmonauts that managing both json api compatibility, IBC integrations and a completely novel airdrop mechanisms is a lot for
@EvmosOrg
but it’s about 95% there from what I can tell and should be awesome as it comes together.
🎉 Happy 5th Birthday, Cosmos Hub!
In just five years, the Hub revolutionized the blockchain space by pioneering PoS consensus, IBC, and Interchain Security.
From an atom to the universe, from one chain to the interchain 💥
Today we celebrate the roots of
#Cosmos
The 10 Millionth message has just been sent across the LayerZero protocol
13 months, hundreds of teams, thousands of mainnet contracts
It's been amazing to see growth of the developer ecosystem, community, and everyone who has taken this journey with us.
The most important thing the
@cosmoshub
can do right now is become friendlier to new contributors. Every person who wants put time and energy into building and onboarding is tremendously valuable. This is more important than the ICS launch or fixing inflation.
Hare are some potential use cases for the Treasury in ATOM 2.0.
- Owning lp shares on Osmosis for liquid staked ATOM/ USDC.
- Owning $ATOM/$IST and $USDC/$IST lp shares on many dexes.
- Dollar Cost averaging into the governance token of promising interchain security zones
Governance proposal to enabled IBC transfers on the
@cosmos
Hub is in final review.
Feedback and improvements requested but could go on the Hub today or over the weekend.
NEW token listed on Kraken: $AKT
@akashnet_
☁️
Deposits begin NOW & trading is live February 1st ✨
* Trading is not available to clients in the US, CA, AUS & Japan.
Cleared differentiation between the IBC network and the ATOM blockchain is essential for the continue growth of
@cosmos
.
I think the differentiation will be subtle.
I think any marketing/branding effort this year that doesn’t successfully differentiate will be a failure.
Polkadot actually did a great job with the technical implementation. It’s a very cool system but the social/cultural dynamics aren’t drawing in new people.
You don’t have outsiders like Skip, the Bears, Sei lining up to build parachains
The app chain thesis won’t have true traction until there is a second stack beyond the IBC,Tendermint,Cosmos-SDK stack with traction among builders
Candidates
- Avalanche Subnets
- OP_STACK rollups
- Celestia roll kit
- Polkadot/Substrate
Lots of other earlier stage enterents
On Sep 28 (DAY3) there will be MAJOR announcements surrounding $ATOM ⚛️
... followed by a very special closing ceremony that we're working on 👀
STAY TUNED.
The ideal future of the Cosmos vision is where every major system of record in the world speaks the IBC protocol to it’s counterparties.
To imagine that all the counterparties will be open source, transparent and decentralized limits that vision to some fringe of the Internet
The main downside of the internal friction in Cosmos is that the community desperately needs to be externally focused right now instead of digging through internal challenges
I think the 19% APR on $ATOM is massively overlooked.... Huge upside , same amount as Anchor offered, but not only are you collecting the steady yield , but have exposure to one of the fastest growing Ecosystems in
#Crypto
.
#Cosmos
The ICF supported teams that have been delivering for Cosmos users in the first half of the year.
No ABCI++ meant no DYDX
IBC 7.0 unlocks Polkadot, Near, eth and more in the IBC ecosystem
The cosmos sdk is back on track
1/ The ICF is committed to driving the growth of the interchain as a hub of open-source innovation.
In following this vision, we continue our path to open and transparent communication by sharing our 2023 Q1 Report:
It would be a better world if Twitter resisted a hostile take over by airdropping shares to its user base rather than selling discounted shares to insiders.
A multichain future is a multisig future.
L1's by definition have unique security and governance models that means it is impossible to build trustless bridges between them, since the definition of trustless changes based on which side of the bridge you're standing.
Four horsemen of “Chain Abstraction”are
@NEARProtocol
,
@agoric
,
@anoma
and Suave from
@flashbotsmev
Many other chains will touch this concept as well like Entropy and ICP.
The coprocessor concept also fits in here.
Need a better meme tho.
“Metachains”….
I expect the valuation of alt L1s to be under pressure in 2022 due to more toolkits from Ava and Cosmos and Diem and Polkadot for building an L1, and bridge commodification. Paradoxically L1 innovation will accelerate
@ViktorBunin
My bet is
Skip
Noble
Berachain
Celestia
Metamask Snaps
Liquid Stake Module
ABCI++
Osmo 2.0
Is going to deliver a sea change in how Cosmos is experienced by the wider crypto world
