The Audius whitepaper, originally published in 2018 and last updated in 2020, spoke of plans to launch support for artist coins. With today’s release, the initial roadmap set out for Audius is complete, marking the first major version release of Open Audio Protocol: v1.0.

Some artists are working on rewards mechanisms, to shift part of their 50% towards rewarding / incentivizing fan behaviors. Others are interested in fan airdrops. All of this is possible (and programmable) in the artist coin toolchain. Artist coins are interoperable.
