The Swedish elections are over. Here’a all you need to know.
The leader of the establishment right-wing block promised to Hédi Fried, a Holocaust survivor, to never cooperate with the fascist SD.
A few years later, he’s forming a government with them.
Shameful, and worrying.
Congratulations to

The wait times for a US visa appointments are absolutely insane. Having to wait 10 months for a simple tourist visa interview in Copenhagen is ridicules, and extremely damaging for young PhDs who want to make it to US based conference/summer schools.

Felt like Tel Aviv, just affordable, and less stressful.
Pretty sure I’ll be back.
With COVID restrictions lifted here in Denmark, we gathered for another excellent

This phenomenon, of academics engaging with the public through social media, by informing and contributing to the conversation, is fascinating. There are positive and negative sides to it. I’m still formulating my thoughts, so would love to hear different perspectives/insights.

I arrived in

in early October, just a week before the horrific events in the Middle East erupted. The first couple of weeks were shaped by trying to use work to avoid drowning in grief, fear and anxiety.
Oh crap. I feel for the authors.
But the good news: maybe the decline in science and technology’s disruptiveness is not declining as much as we thought we knew.
Also, quite impressive to see how serious people are in reproducing research. Very important!
Wow. A bug in the Seaborn data visualization software hid many CD=1 papers, leading Park et al to incorrectly conclude that disruption in science and technology is declining (top histogram), while it is not ( bottom histogram).

Lisbon so far:

How much should it cost to rent a flat (for a couple) in Boston (Harvard square, Somerville, Brookline)? For six months..
I see prices online and don’t know if I should believe it (3500$-4000$ per month 😱)..
Also noticed this striking paper going viral yesterday.
@PHuenermund
before taking it to the classroom, perhaps a within faculty discussion is called for.
Some sort of CSR for business schools.

Making a lemonade:
Universities did not open yet in Israel (bc. War). My sister, a brilliant psychology student, decided she must keep her mind off the war, so asked if I have an idea for something for her to do..
Bottom line:
My dad and her are collecting data for my JMP ❤️.
It’s clear to me why the diffusion of knowledge literature focused on STEM fields (economics impact, measurement issues, paper trail).
But it’s so surprising to see so little focus on SSH, end economics in particular.
Am I missing something?
A horrible attack on Tel-Aviv last night. Horrid pictures and bloodshed. The attack took place meters from my cousin’s studio, who shattered with her partner, luckily they weren’t harmed.
Only peace between Israelis and Palestinians will put a stop to this endless suffering.
First day of

Adam Jaffe opened with a lecture on innovation measurements, it was followed by a student paper session on gender and science.
